I was wondering if anyone could shed some light in regards to wax seals. I love the elegant look of it. I'm planning to have a navy or burgundy envelope with a gold wax seal.
I do not have any experience with wax seals, so...
Are there any downfalls when using wax seals?
Do they make it through the mail without becoming damaged?
Is this something I could do myself at home? Or, should I find a professional?

We've gotten a couple invites with seals on them that weren't damaged at all! If you're worried about it, maybe send yourself a test letter to see how it looks. You could ask a friend to drop it in their mailbox, or throw it in one of those big public ones to get it a little more beat up
I personally wouldn't spend the money on it because people aren't going to really remember that you did it. It is one of those unnecessary things.
