Re: Tuesday.

  • Speaking of Target, I'm obsessed with the skinny pants by their new brand A New Day.  I have them in black and red and may go back to get each color.  They are high waisted, so if you're like me and round in the tum you don't get mushroom tops and they are skinny without being leggings.  We need.

Are these like dress pants or colored denim? I need new pants as I keep gaining weight lately (apparently it is "return to work weight" rather than baby weight) and something to hide the spare tire would be nice.

Dress pants; there are two different types of fabric and both are really nice.

@kaos16, we have an 18' center console outboard.   It's not huge but it's moored at a marina and you need to back into a sleep near plenty of other boats that size or larger.   Like I said, I simply have no experience driving a boat.   We co-own it with FIL and he's been a skilled boater for years.   DH hadn't driven one until this year (aside from maybe a few turns before on FIL's or family boats).

But still, CT is one of the states that actually requires boaters to have a license which isn't the case in other places.  So until I get my license followed by the on the water experience, I'm not going to drive the boat.
Oh, I get it. . . . . I was just trying to give an example in support of you!
  • @kimmiinthemitten tell me more about these pants. I haven't been to target in months and need to go tomorrow. Do they have other colors?

@short+sassy what's your meds called? My boss and MIL are on really good stuff. M should be on meds but hasn't been to a dr in awhile *sigh*
    Glad it works though!
We have the same husband.  He can't be "sick" if no one can diagnose it!  H lives off of sugary drinks like soda, milk, milkshakes, and monster and only eats chips and Frito's (no sugar in them, but also not the healthiest of choices) when he's on his own.  I can't get him to eat vegetables when I'm around - but at least he gets meat and potatoes.

To be fair, I am avoiding the optometrist because I won't need glasses if I don't get them prescribed.....

My H and I have a friend who refuses to eat veggies or fruit.  Any of them.  Or anything with veggies/fruit in it.  I'm a real meat eater myself, but I still don't understand it!  There is so much variety in both of those categories to find SOMETHING a person likes.

I almost think it might be a psychological block.  Like he's told himself for so long that he doesn't like any fruits/veggies, that now he can't even try them.

Y'all.  He won't even eat guacamole.  Because it is made with avocados.  That is food from the Gods!  It is natural fatty goodness that doesn't even taste like a fruit or veggie.  He says he doesn't like it, but I suspect he's never tried it.

No spaghetti and meatballs?   No mac and cheese if there are onions in it?  No turkey and stuffing? Ketchup on a burger?  Orange juice?  Apple pie?

Would probably have mac and cheese with onions, but only if he could pick out the onions.  Otherwise, no way.  Would have turkey, but would totally skip the stuffing if there were any veggies, including onions, in it.

No juices either.  In fact, we all went out to brunch and I mentioned the place had all-you-can-drink mimosas and OJ.  He reminded me he doesn't like fruit and that included juice.  I'm not sure about juice cocktails, which are mostly sugar anyway, but I suspect no.  He won't eat fruit pies either.

He won't eat anything with a tomato sauce.  He says the sauce tastes too much like tomatoes.  However, I'm not sure about ketchup.  It either hasn't come up or I don't remember his "stance", lol.

I am often surprised at what he won't eat, because it won't occur to me there are veggies in it.  Things like a pork or chicken egg roll.  Items that really aren't veggie-based, but usually has finely chopped veggie(s) in them.  Nope.  Only if veggies are large and sparse enough that he can pick them out.  At least there's that!

I believe they have green, gray and khaki too!  My red pair has an almost velour texture to them and the black pair is a more lightweight fabric.

I'm not quite giving credit yet that it works, lol.  I've become jaded by over-the-counter pain medications that work sometimes for me, but often don't.  But 1/1 is at least a hopeful start, lol.

I don't remember off-hand what it is called and didn't bring any to work.  But I'll look at the name tonight and get back to you.

My doctor said it is part "the same ingredients in Tylenol", caffeine, and something else that I think starts with "b".  My H and I were not familiar with the third ingredient.

I"m guessing it's Fioricet, with the B being the barbiturate which is the 3rd ingredient?
It's my go to 'mild' drug for'em.
  • I am sick.
Just a cold.  Not even an awful one.  Just enough to feel like crap.  Oh, and I've lost my voice (3rd day of croaking) and have on and off coughing fits even w/ meds.
And I left work, still feeling sick, to rush to parent teacher confrences, which I was almost late to, becuase I was sitting in the parking lot waiting for my nose to stop bleeding.

    (Here's the info @MissKittyDanger)

You are correct!  It is a generic for Fioricet.  The "b" is for butalbital.

Across the pill bottle...as if it is the name...it says:

    Butalbital, Acetaminophen, and Caffeine

I don't suffer from migraines.  Just headaches, on occasion.  So it makes sense my doctor would prescribe a more mild drug for that kind of thing.

I hope you're feeling better today!
