Mueller Monday

Can we just take a minute to talk about the fact that the Chairman of the President's election campaign was indicted today on a host of charges, including money laundering?

Re: Mueller Monday

  • Oh but those were outside "activities" that had nothing to do with the campaign. EYEROLL

OK, let's assume that they're telling the truth.

Doesn't that at minimum imply that Trump and his team did a really bad job at hiring important key people?

In any other field you would look to the hiring managers and say, "Why did you hire the person with this record?   Didn't you look into their references?!?"
Unless you're looking for someone whose references are all former KGB or with ties to the Russian government....

Yes, he's done the shittiest job of staffing a campaign and the WH in history.

That, or y'know, he (and SO MANY OTHER PEOPLE) are complicit.

Is it bad that I pray the stain touches Pence and he's out on his ass at the end of this?  Because while Trump is a fucking mess on policy, Pence will have laser focus and it will seriously fuck anyone who's not white, male, Christian, and above the poverty line (hell, the lower to mid middle class would be screwed too).

Pfft.  I think it's just a matter of time before Trump accidentally tweets classified information anyway.

As for Mueller, it's hard to even be amazed at the horror anymore.  Long before his campaign, Trump had a reputation for being a shady businessman.  Of course his campaign and campaign finances wouldn't be run any differently.  Apparently Mueller was the right guy for the job.

On another political rant topic.  The Senate voting down...with Pence breaking the tie...a new consumer rights law that was supposed to take effect in 2019.  Which would have allowed consumers to engage in class action lawsuits against financial institutions.

That cut every U.S. citizen off at the knee.  In order to please predatory lenders and debt collectors.  And, yes, Equifax also.

I mean, you'd think they would have treaded more lightly.  In the wake of a giant powerhouse like Equifax effing up so royally and very recently.  Then exponentially compounding their error with their pathetic response.   That they have drawn the ire and outrage of millions of people.  You'd think politicians wouldn't want to remotely associate and align with such a publicly hated company.

But no.  Just when I think, "Well, come on.  This is so OBVIOUSLY horrible.  Horrible for the entire population, across all demographics.  Surely even the worst politicians will hold up their duty to protect the American people."  Alas, I'm wrong again.
