    I have heard about this. Honestly it's been happening for years. M is ADHD and his misbehaving is how his parents were finally able to get him diagnosed properly {he showed signs and they knew, but the school denied it until his parents finally pushed to get him into proper dr}

    What a great article outlining some serious drawbacks of these kind of classroom warning/punishment systems.

    I really can't even imagine how difficult it can be for a teacher...or a parent...to control and correct a misbehaving young child.  I'm sure that is an impossible tight rope to walk between getting a child to behave properly, while not raining down a lot of negativity on them and destroying their spirit.

    I realize I'm getting a bit of just "one side" from reading these posts and reading that article, but writing kids up for normal kid behavior and every tiny infraction seems like such a huge disruption to what kids should be doing in school...learning!  Plus it sounds like a lot of pressure.  That their behavior always has to be "perfect".  Nobody wants to feel like they're walking on eggshells all the time and it just seems especially damaging to do that to children in their crucial, formative years.
