Why aren't enough people listening?!?! (Banging head against the wall)

Article about the "freak" occurrence...growing less "freak"...of polar ice melting (temps above freezing) before winter is over this year.

Article that the southern half of Louisiana will be under water within the next 40 years.  It's on the "Opinion" page, but cites scientific studies that say this.

Re: Global Warming

  • I know :(

The weather has been beautiful here the last few days- but it's February!

    I feel quite helpless.

    (Sigh), me too.

It just struck me that, if I live into my '80s, I might actually see the city I currently call home disappear.  Like the fabled city of Atlantis.  We'll see coastal cities worldwide disappearing over the next few decades.

  • It's just so heartbreaking, and even doing what we can on an individual level seems like it may not make a difference. I think for some people, it's easy to ignore or think it's a hoax because it's not impacting them directly on a regular basis. It's hard to think about future issues for people who are struggling with food insecurity or medical bills or job loss or, or, or, or. And then some of them are just assholes who choose to ignore science. I can try to not judge the first group of people but the second group makes my blood boil.
