Gifts for readers

I heard that buying gifts for the readers is optional.
I would like to buy them a little something but I'm not sure what?

1 is a pastor of a baptist church and doesn't drink so nice bottle of wine is out.
2 I don't believe is married so "gift card for her and husband for dinner" is out.
3 wine/dinner would be fine for her but I want something a bit more personal.

any ideas?

It's not really optional unless you think a gift for anyone is optional.

IMO, if you're not paying the person to be a part of your wedding (like the  priest, altar servers, cantor, organist, ) then you give the person a gift of thanks.

What do these people like?  Give fits based on their likes /dislikes.  Everyone needs to eat.  You can go with gift certificates for restaurants that don't involve significant others.   What would you give them for Christmas or birthdays?   Go with that.
  • Why does a person have to be married to get a gift card to dinner?
