  • GL on the interviews @Jen4948
I think all the messages to the admins have helped since I see more regs posting. yay.

Back to the dress.  Last night we went shopping for H's sportscoat and ended up at kohls.  I saw a rack that had clearance and said "I don't care if it fits you, pick something from there!".  And he did.  And it kinda did fit.  I looked at dresses for shits and giggles while I was there.  I ended up with this.  PLEASE tell me it's appropriate? Also, I'm not even close to goal but it was my first time not shopping in the plus size section!
I like it - it is versatile. You can add a belt and define your waist, wear some cute wedges and grab a cute clutch. I think it works!
  • Thanks! I was also thinking I could wear it to the baptism with a sweater over it too.  It only works with a high waisted girdle - but that's nothing new with me.

  • Hope the interviews went well @Jen4948.

    Thanks!
  • @CharmedPam, I think it is adorable and appropriate!

  • I like the first dress.  If you think it's too fancy for cocktail, I'm sure you could dress it down with the right accessories.

I'm still waiting for approval on my post on the move the boards post from yesterday, but usually I don't have an issue.  I also don't post a lot anymore either.  I can't usually keep up with the daily posts teaching.

We've been back from Thailand for 2 days now and jet lag is still killing me.  I'm trying to go into work to get my classroom set up just so I avoid napping during the day.  But, the job I really want just got posted today, so I've applied on that.  I've known since June it was going to be posted today, so I'v spent the entire summer doing readings, updating my resume and generally imagining interview questions trying to get ready.  I'm so nervous about it!!

  • Busy day. Two job interviews.

Testing to see if this will post.
  • @WinstonsGirl, good luck with the job opening you are going for!  How was Thailand?  I've always wanted to visit.  It looks like such a beautiful country with so much history and things to see.

A friend and his wife are over there right now.  But that is where his wife is originally from, so they go every 1-2 years.  In fact, he complains that it isn't a "real" vacation, lol.  Because it's really just visiting family and he's already been there many, many times.  He also jokes...in a nice way!...that her parents don't even care about seeing him or their daughter anymore.  They just want to visit with their grandbaby, lol.

Thanks.  I really want this job, but you never know who will apply.

Thailand was good, but we were a little disappointed.  Not sure if it was the country, not being mental prepared for a vacation (too much going on at home), or if our travel style is changing.  We loved Ayutthaya, and Chang Rai.  We were pretty disappointed with the diving in Koh Tao - there was nothing to see and really poor visibility.  One of our favourite parts was the stop over in Beijing on the way home (I've been, but DH hadn't).  It was good though, and we saw a lot of different things.

One of the best days was with Elephant Nature Park.  They're an elephant sanctuary.  We prepped food for them, and fed them, walked through the forest with them and then headed into the river to bath them.  It was very cool and I highly recommend it!

I haven't had any trouble posting ever (hopefully didn't just jinx myself) but I really hope it gets figured out soon.

Busy week with Dr. appointments, 2 concerts - Ben Folds/Cake tonight and Miranda Lambert/Little Big Town on Saturday, and trying to keep up at work and home.

    tiny rant:

We are going to a wedding next month out west which is a plane ride away for almost everyone and I'm super side-eyeing this couple.  It's adults-only (16+...wtf is that) and it's plastered all over their invites and website.  In the registry section they have a huge note about how this is a destination for everyone, they don't need anything, your presence truly is our gift, blah blah blah.  Then below they link to SIX....yes SIX registries, one of which is an extensive honeyfund with like 30 different ways you can waste your money.

Registries are fine, 6 registries is excessive, but fine.  But it's really bothering me that they have that long note and then also 6 registries for all the stuff they don't need.  Then yesterday - I checked bc I was going to order a gift and they've removed all but they're huge honeyfund.

If I didn't have to travel i'd be getting them a giant metal chicken.

I'd get a GC for one of the stores you saw when they had the registry up.

I haven't been able to post so I guess I'll see if this works...

DD will be 37 weeks pregnant this week, this has been a very bad pregnancy and I can't wait for it to be over for her. They thought she was going to deliver by 30ish weeks due to a "window" in her uterus but she's still hanging in on bed rest. She's about to go crazy and driving us all crazy. The baby has club feet so that is also stressing her out - about the dealing with that after she's born. I just want a healthy baby and for DD to be ok.
