I’ve actually already had a productive morning at work so clearly it’s time for some distractions.

Not much going on here, H has been prepping for an interview tomorrow; it’s an internal position I hope he gets. I’m going to sound terrible but I’m tired of him being unhappy with his job. And he is searching, learning new skills, all the things he should be doing and nothing is really happening. And I do feel really bad for him. But I’m also annoyed at how much he hates his job and how cranky it makes him. I’m self-centered I know.

Not much going on here today. I have two meetings this afternoon, but they should be relatively painless.
Going to the gym with my neighbor friend again tonight - we are trying to get our thigh gaps back lol.
Babypants took 2 hours to go down last night. Luckily she slept through the night after she finally went to sleep, but seriously. Something has to give.

I'm watching Handmaids Tale and already cried once during the first ep of this season. This show also makes me a nervous wreck. But I can't quit it. So...good times.

I will say that the music choices on this series are perfect.

Other than that, SSDD. It looks like it's going to rain. I can feel it since I have a headache that won't quit.

I'm trying to input 2 client files the way I have done it before AND IDK IF SOMETHING CHANGED but now I change one file, and it does the same to the other.

Right now it’s relatively quiet, but we’re short-handed at the moment. One of the guys I work closely with is helping his uncle move to Florida, so he’s gone the rest of the week. So far I haven’t had to stay late (knock on wood).

DW has been miserable. She had to cut back on her hormones in preparation for her surgery next Monday. She’s constantly having hot flashes.

@charlotte989875, good luck to your H! Considering it is an internal position, is it just his current position he doesn't like, but likes working for the company overall?

I found all my closing packets, except for one. But for the one I'm missing, I did find the Act of Sale packet that was mailed to me by the title company after closing. Hopefully that will be good enough. I swear I have made great strides in keeping paperwork more organized, but the closing packet I'm missing was in the early days, lol. I was also way wrong they were all in my safe, lol. They were in a large drawer. I then remembered I'd vetoed putting them in the safe because it's not big enough for them to lie flat. My safe can fit a normal sized sheet of paper, but not legal sized paper.

The title company for my personal home purchase put a copy of the closing documents on a CD. Brilliant idea! I'm going to scan my other ones, put them on a USB drive, and keep THAT in the safe.

I forget how huge those packets are. So much paper. Trees have died for my real estate dreams, lol.

My H and I didn't go out for my mystery shop dinner last night. I forgot I had to make a pre-visit phone call on a different day, ugh. But I'm still within the date range, made my call last night, and we're going tonight instead.

Another busy day at work, but I think next week will be less stressful.

Thanks everyone! His division is terribly mismanaged and he doesn’t totally believe in the company but there are a lot of great benefits (flex scheduling, unlimited PTO, free lunch) that he does appreciate. The new position would pay a lot more and is much closer to what he wants to do long term.

It was only posted internally but he doesn’t know if there was a specific candidate in mind or how many people applied.

she's definitely getting her 2-year molars. 1 down, 3 more to go. But I think there is some nighttime anxiety also happening, which I am not quite sure how to solve

I used to work for a defense contractor that did a lot of that. I think it was part of their military/gov't. contracts that they had to advertise all open positions to the public for at least three business days.

Except the majority of the time we already knew exactly who we were going to be hiring. Sometimes, it was our very clients who told us the person they wanted hired for a particular position in their project.

Hopefully that's not the case for your H!

@OurWildKingdom, this is breast augmentation surgery right? GL - it’s almost there!!!

I feel so out of it. Last night I was not feeling well but still planned to make PT. Woke up with a sore throat, shortness of breath and dizziness feeling. All of that won’t be good for the workout. No lung capacity and I definitely need that. I bet they think I wimped out because I’m so sore... but I was willing to power through that.

I’m going senile. I went to my therapists office last night after work, sat down for like 4 minutes, wondered why she didn't come out to greet me or call (if she’s late since I’m her 1st appt at 5). Then I checked my calendar. Oh. It’s NEXT Tuesday. We agreed every 3 weeks but I seriously thought 3 weeks had gone by.

@charlotte989875 good luck to him! I totally know what you mean bc mine complains about his a lot yet is unwilling to do anything about it, mostly because he has a really good gig going on but he just gets grumpy about it when he actually has real work to do

I'm soooo hungry. I didn't eat breakfast and I'm holding out for lunch since I have a work lunch. It is for a new intern's first day and will be weird bc I don't work with him at all but I sit in the same little pod as him so I got invited since they need other people. One person already had to bail so it will be 3 of us and I don't really talk to the other guy outside of projects.

Last night I had book club which was a lot of fun. I really like this group of ladies as there is a range of ages and stage in life which is nice. We had 3 new people who all have young kids so that is nice too even though none of them live on my side of the neighborhood.

@sparklepants41 My coworker has had issues for years with her oldest daughter and realized it's nighttime anxiety. They're in the midst of trying different things but she's done lavender spray, sleepy stories with a device {just to listen, not touch} diffuser and something else I forget. Does she have a nightlight?

We had thunderstorms go through last night. Not too bad for us but across town there are trees down and roof damage. In the next county, they had hail the size of baseballs! DH and I stayed home and watched the storms from the front window.

There is some work drama and I'm tired of it. Can't we all just be professional adults?

My mom is having some testing done today and we may have to wait a week for results. Would appreciate your thoughts/prayers/vibes for good results.

She has a nightlight, a sound machine, and a glow giraffe that plays lullabies.

I had the same problem with zzquil! But I don't with nighttime cough medicine. Supposedly, zzquil is the same thing. Just without the ingredients that help coughs. But, I dunno. I won't take zzquil anymore because of the headaches.

I even looked up if it's okay to take cough medicine for sleep. Everything I found said it was fine, as long as one does not overdose. So I started doing that.

However, I discovered MidNite and I like that even better. It does have melatonin in it. I usually start feeling sleepy within 15-20 minutes of taking it. It promises that, as long as you have at least 3 hours to sleep, you won't wake up feeling groggy. Definitely true! No headaches. No grogginess. No ill effects at all. If anything, I'm more energetic when I wake up and feel great. Because I've gotten a good night's, deeper sleep.

How funny @short+sassy. I usually do okay with zzquil but NyQuil takes me out. Zzquil is just Benadryl by another brand name (generic name is diphenhydramine). NyQuil has doxylamine, which is another antihistamine. But for some reason it’s really hard on me. And then I get terrible rebound insomnia, on top of the insomnia I already have. The sleep struggle is real.

@CharmedPam, it is breast augmentation. She wants to have facial feminization surgery later this summer too, but we don’t know yet if that’s a possibility.

Raining big-time here in Houston. I had to commute through it to work.

My parents are off to their cruise today.

Accounting work is ok (routine, kinda dull, but not painful). Editing work (administrative) is more interesting as my rebuilt website takes shape.

It’s 76° here. My children were dying to swim so we came to the pool. they’r swimming and I’m eating epic goldfish and playing on my phone. Not a bad day.

Soccer side note: I already like M2’s team better. Season doesn’t start until August and her coach is already emailing rosters and what to expect. Her old coach barely email during the season to say what time they were playing
