Trenta on TUESDAY

Re: Trenta on TUESDAY

  • Thanks for the reminder @short+sassy! I just scheduled mine for this afternoon.
  • For Instant Pot, we like:
    https://tornadoughalli.com/instant-pot-taco-pasta/?force_isolation=true (I use low-sodium beef broth)

    https://www.sparklestosprinkles.com/instant-pot-pasta-e-fagioli/

I brown my burger in a fry pan, drain before adding to IP because I don't like draining from the IP.  But you can do it all in the IP and have fewer dirty pans.

  • @banana468 sorry to hear :( {about dr visit and gaining 5lbs} I always feel bad for dr's when there's a death of a patient
I love comfort food. I've been trying to be good, because I would eat an entire pan of brownies. So I swapped to "mug cakes" by betty crocker. Idk if it makes a difference intake wise, but I feel better having that vs entire pan of brownies
    {BK still isn't into sweet food ... idk who this child is}
  • Cookies, mashed potatoes, pasta.  Those are my go-to comfort foods, but I've been eating less potatoes lately.  And I suppose since I eat a piece of dark chocolate everyday, probably dark chocolate.

If you've been working out, are you sure it's not just muscle mass with the five pounds?  I always gain weight when I start working out.

  • It may be muscle although the kringle I had delivered probably didn't help.  Either way I'll watch the food and will keep up the spinning.

If it makes you feel better, not everyone is born with a sweet tooth.  I wasn't.  My mom has made many jokes in my lifetime that I cannot possibly be her child, lmao.

Instead, my food vice has always been "savory and full of fat", lol.  Like potato chips, sausage and fried chicken.

I was reading an article the other day that talked about the majority of food poisoning comes from produce (like lettuce) as opposed to meat.  One of the posts after the article said, "All Bacon diet it is then."  Definitely a kindred spirit!

Lol BK is actually a big savory foodie. If she finds chips, she will steal.
Fun story, yesterday we come down and BK finds a rogue bag of chips {thanks M *eye roll*} and she has her yogurt.
    BK: chip?
Me: yeh I guess. One chip.
    BK: *happily* one chip!
Me; *turns around to make coffee and turns back to see BK deep in the chip bag* I said one chip!
BK: *takes one chip out of the handful she has* one chip!

My toddler niece (D) story.  She's 13 now, but this is from when she was 3 or 4.  My sis and BIL had gotten Krispy Kreme doughnuts as a special treat.  Everyone had some with their breakfast.

My sister put the KK box on the far, back edge of the kitchen counter.  Where D couldn't get to it.  Or so she thought.

Later that afternoon, D comes into the living room with sugary glaze remnants ALL OVER her face.  This was the conversation:

Sister:  "D!!!  Did you have a Krispy Kreme doughnut?"
D -- "No."  ((pause for effect))...

"I had TWO Krispy Kreme doughnuts."

Edit: I accidentally used the symbols for an emoticon when I didn't mean to, lol.

LOLOLOLOL at least she was honest? LMAO

BK is short so we don't have to worry {yet} but unfortunately we keep our chip bags on the floor {easiest place} so she knows and gets at them easily. Usually she ignores them in the morning but M left one on the couch *face palm*
  • That's such BS.
     totally don't get it.
(Also, the Mr. is in bed.  No fever but....uh...all of the rest of the symptoms are problematic, so he's been tested and ordered off work until results--5-7 days.
Thekiddo did virtual scout mtg tonight in case, and I'm not sure what tomorrow holds for me working)
  • what the heck @short+sassy  I hope they get smart and send another message keeping people home if the weather is bad.
