Okay maybe that’s an overly dramatic title. But A- omg count faster what are you doing?!?!?!! And B- a week or so ago I posted about not wanting to go to a friend’s indoor 15 person windowless maskless birthday, and all y’all supported that. But she’s furious and has been giving me the silent treatment since Saturday and it’s just all really sad.

Dude, WTF is Nevada doing? They haven't updated counts since Tuesday. But I'm super excited about Georgia. 19k. Even if we ultimately go to the cheetoh, it says something about all the hard work people here are doing. Stacey Abrams has a lot to do with it.

That really sucks about your friend being unreasonable. She knew you wouldn't be comfortable with it, planned it anyway, and is now mad that you didn't change your mind. I hope she's just acting out of frustration and disappointment and will get over it quickly.

Day 2 back at work. H has a huge interview today from 10-1. It’s his second with the company so fingers crossed it goes well! I’m working in the nursery so he can have the good office.

i'm so anxious today. A couple petty work things are pissing me off, and i'm so nervous but getting more optimistic about the election. my MIL is babysitting today and it always makes H a little antsy (house isn't clean enough, what do we have for lunch, etc). And she's always way early or way late. Both are frustrating. But today is a late day *eyeroll* I try to not complain bc i'm not even there adn we're getting free child care, but ugh.

last night my 8 year old neice called me in tears. She got her ears pierced about a month ago and lost an earring while cleaning them. I calmly talked to her (basically told her it wasn’t the end of the world even though that’s the end of the world to an 8 year old) and said we could replace it or find a new pair of favorite earrings and towards the end of the convo she seemed fine. She is VERY sensitive, and my sister texted me after that the phone call helped her and she felt much better. ❤️

She also admitted I was third choice since Grandma and Grandpa (my parents) were busy with my SIL and bro since baby #3 can come any day now and they’re with them!

Nevada had already said they weren't going to count any votes on Wednesday, but would on Thursday. The blurb I read didn't say why. Maybe they figured it would already be decided by Thursday and the pressure would be off, lol. But here we are. On this morning's count, Biden only needs 6 more electoral votes to reach 270 and that is exactly how many Nevada has. Although it's leaning toward Biden in NV, the difference is razor thin, so I'm worried about it.

Heck, of the 5 states that are left, Biden only needs ONE to win (not counting Alaska).

But speaking of razor thin, so is Georgia! I know Trump is still ahead. But they stopped counting at 10:30 last night and will resume again today. It would be extra amazing for Biden to get that state in the 11th hour.

I'm disappointed with PA, though. They're not even a Republican stronghold and Biden is their hometown boy! Come on! If more of them had voted for their guy, PA might have already been decided and this would have been over.

That's all right. We'll just keep trudging on to the photo finish.

Trudeau has made it very clear that regardless of the outcome, he will defend Canada's boarders {ie; giant f-u to Trump who wants to open the boarders}

M is home with BK today. Daycare has dr appt mid-day and just easier than pick-up.

Did I mention we do the desensitization for BK next week? Monday i'll be level 12 anxiety before 9am because her appt is at 8:30am

Short version, we are training her body to handle small amounts of sesame. Basically rebuilding her immune system. She'll never be able to have a burger with sesame or a bagel with sesame, but she could go to McD and have nuggets safely without risk of anaphylaxis because of cross-contamination.

I am obviously extremely detached from the situation but I'm having less and less sympathy for someone who plans an ill-advised event, is told what the stipulations for the event need to be in order for your attendance to be made and then pitches a juvenile passive aggressive silent treatment to someone who's an alleged friend over it. She planned something that was ill advised at best and the ignorant way of putting herself in her own bubble isn't doing her any favors.

I am on pins and needles waiting for Nevada's update.

@STARMOON44, I'm sorry to hear your friend is upset with you. I know emotions aren't always logical, but it doesn't make any sense she is upset. She decided on her dinner event, knowing you weren't comfortable with it and may not go. That's fine, that's her choice. But then, your choice is to choose to not to go.

As for me, not too much going on at work. I wish I had more distractions, lol. But I'm going to use the time wisely and start working on my refi applications. I keep checking election results, even though I know it is too soon today for anything to have changed, lol.

When I get off work, I have a gift to pick up at Harrahs and then I have three mystery shops to complete, but they are all fairly close to each other. Two of them are even on the same block. But, overall, an unusually busy night and it's going to be another long one. I also have a fairly busy day when I get off work tomorrow, but at least that is my half day.

My friend that lives in Detroit was one of the volunteers. She said the republican observers were so obnoxious. But damn, Michigan came through!

It's going to be so nice this weekend and I'm so excited. Going to unpack, get my nails done and go for a bunch of hikes.

thanks (and to everyone else too!) it really helps to have support here since I don’t want to complain to people who know her. Everyone else is going and I’m sure she will have a great time. And hopefully after that she will get over it.

Our anniversary was yesterday. We didn't do much of anything. We've got dinner reservations for Saturday night. DH did send me gorgeous flowers.

There's a LOT of things in play right now.

GA is still processing votes and apparently there was an 'upload' issue with one county.
PA is also still processing and had to set aside ~30k votes because of some clerical issue. The election commission needs to convene and discuss.
NV, AZ, and NC are still counting.
USPS swept and found thousands of votes. If they have a 11/03 postmark, they will be counted.
Remember, several states were slowed by legislatures and were unable to start counting until Tuesday.
It's working the way it's supposed to. It's an arduous, manual process.

It's also fucking maddening and I'm about to jump out of my skin.

As I said above, AZ was called to early. It hasn't been rescinded, but it could be flipped.

The Postal commissioner ignored a judge's order to sweep ON election day. The judge called him into court yesterday. I think he was threatened with being found in contempt, but it's honestly a news story I haven't tracked.

The US normally has a really high turnout in person on election day. This is why we have counts in a lot faster normally. There was a massive push for mail/absentee voting. Many legislatures are Republican and they tried very hard to make it difficult to vote via mail and also put measures in place to limit counting. This is what has led to such a long lag in results.

Also, our media has a history of calling projections quite early. They, thankfully, have showed a ton uncharacteristic restraint on this front. They should keep doing that.

I took Tuesday and Wednesday off and I'm glad I did. I can't even say my anxiety is high; I'm just kind of numb to the entire thing. I also would like to give back my white woman card, I am uninterested in associating with the 55% of bitches out there. IDK who's in charge of that, but she needs to come collect it.

I'm also surrounded by covid, officially. 2 cases (bad cases, one person almost died and had 40+ days in the hospital, another one was 18 days long) in my apartment building, 3 cases at work, an ordered quarantine by a 4th co-worker, the county and state numbers continue to rise and this fucking state voted our lying ass governor back in. I'm so done with MO. If I thought I could convince my parents to move with me, I'd be searching for a blue state to move. They're going to get a lot of us damn sick or killed.

I come into work and find out that shit is hitting the fan. Once again, it's b/c of 2 attorneys who think I'm too stupid to realize, or find out, that they're stabbing me in the back. I just snapped at one of them, who tried to play the, "I'm not trying to criticize you" game. Same one also complained that I took Tuesday/Wednesday off and wanted to know why, b/c "we need our legal trainer." Bitch, I WORK for my PTO and if I want to spend it taking a shit, drinking martinis, and painting my nails all at the same time, that's 10000000% my prerogative and I don't have to check in with YOU. The damn managing paralegal is also being a hosebeast and my patience is at an all time low for a whole lot of people. These 2 attorneys have always liked me and I've always liked and been professional with them, but I am NOT going to be bullied at work ever again (old timers will remember Diva). Oh and a friend's house was vandalized early Wednesday morning. Someone spray painted, "[His name] is a fag" and "Trump 2020" on his house. I stayed on video chat with him while he cried and cleaned it off b/c his main concern was that his parents not have to see it.

So yeah...I think I'm overwhelmed right now and just don't have a lot of patience for stupid power plays at work from incompetent, inefficient, and stupid people. Who I know voted for Trump.

Most states allowed early voting, this is only the second (or third?) election that NY where I’m at allowed early voting. We also don’t have absentee/mail in for any reason; you have to have one of a list of approved reasons for requesting an absentee ballot. This differs wildly by state.

Yes, DH and I voted in person, on a machine, in mid-October. Early voting starts up to 6 weeks in advance of election day, depending on your state/local laws. Also, the county election commission is in charge of the amount of early voting locations.
