Re: Wacky Wednesday

  • So, update. He now wants 6 months or longer to remove me from the mortgage. To put this all in perspective, I filed for divorce in May. He's had since then to figure this out. And yet, I'm supposed to give him another 6 months and agree that if he can't do it in 6 months, he can indemnify me. HAHAHAHAHAHAHA. And I'm supposed to agree to a permanent OOP on top of this.

I'm guessing he was either turning down to remortgage, or he realizes that because he under reports his earnings, he can't on paper afford the mortgage himself.

Will discuss all w/ my lawyer later.

Aynway, thank you guys for listening. Didn't mean to jump word vomit my feelings all over the board!
    Feel free to vent away!

From what you've said previously your lawyer is smart and has your back.  I hope he continues to advocate for your appropriately.

Is the possibility that the OOP prevents you from getting into your own house that he does not want to sign over?  I'm not really understanding any of this but I'm pissed at him on your behalf.

Yeah, that's bullshit he wants to keep your name on the house and not pay you out what you're owed, plus push for a permanent protective order. That all seems like having your cake and eating it too.

Also, wouldn't he owe you more? Well, I guess not since you're not paying the mortgage anymore.  However, what if the the property value goes down?  He should still have to pay you what it was assessed at when divorce proceedings were initiated.
  • @climbingsingle I hope your lawyer recognizes this for the manipulation it is!  What an asshole!
  • Thanks everyone <3

He literally was granted the lowest form of an OOP you can get. It says I'm not allowed to harm him. He didn't even technically remove me from the house. The judge asked if I'd agree to vacate the house by a certain date and I agree. So the OOP doesn't even bar me from the home.
  • He needs an OOP against himself.  His condition of being a dumb motherfucker seems harmful to himself and anyone who get close to him.  It could even possibly be terminal.
  • Is he still using a real estate attorney for the divorce?

Would you agreeing to 6 more months be a favor?  Because it sounds like a favor.

So, if I'm understanding this correctly, he lied about you and your character to get a temporary OOP in October.  And now is doubling down on that lie to get a permanent OOP.  While wanting you to help him get more time to refinance the house in just his name.  Sure seems like a really bad strategy with someone you need a favor from.

Gosh.  Who knew such bad things can happen when you are horrible to your ex-wife and cheat the IRS? //s.

Can he be forced to sell the house and you all split the proceeds?  Because I'm petty on your behalf and would love to hear about him having to move out, lol.  Plus, I assume in this hot seller's market, there is more and more equity in your all's house every day.  Get every bit you are entitled to!

  • @VarunaTT love the print! It will look fab with you new chaise too.

@climbingsingle sorry FF is causing you such grief. I hope your lawyer is able to sort it out quickly.

@banana468 (was it you asking about the sleepwear?) Do you sleep with you feet uncovered or covered? I don't wear anything special, just cotton/flannel pajama pants and tank/t-shirt, but I HAVE to have my toes sticking out or I wake up sweaty. 🤷
  • what a mess @climbingsingle and each of these issues/delays/nonsense cost you more in legal fees too which I'm sure he is playing into as well
  • Just catching up on everything from yesterday but wow @climbingsingle I'm so sorry you're dealing with all of this.  Vent away anytime if it helps!  Fuck that guy.
  • I’m sorry @climbingsingle that is all the biggest pile of bullshit. *hugs*
