Wedding Woes

Tuesday

Sorry no clever title today.

At work again today - it's kind of nice to be somewhere other than my dining room table. I really miss the baby boy though.  He was sobbing when i picked him up yesterday (apparently got upset when some kids started leaving for the day) but was happy and giggly as soon as we got in the car.  Dropoff went smoothly this morning and he was running around with other kiddos when I left.  No tears (for mama at least) yet today.

I feel very in a funk again.  I went to bed about 8pm last night and H came and snuggled and talked for awhile which really helped.  I think the few tears on Sunday night about sending G back just snowballed into emotions that were just way too big.  I'm blaming pregnancy hormones and pandemic stress.

The sun is out today finally even though it's super cold, so at least it looks nice through the office windows!!

Hope everyone has a good Tuesday.

Re: Tuesday

  • Meh. This weather is wacky. We were supposed to get more snow today, and thankfully it seems to be missing us. But we might get more snow Thursday? They keep putting it on and then taking it off the forecast. Super annoying when I'm trying to plan my work from home day.

I'm already dreading Valentine's Day this year. I feel like I'm being assaulted by it.
  • So M gave me a weird reaction and has told me to shop?

I had ordered bras and undies from Aerie. The bras I didn't get right size, so I planned on waiting until I mailed them back and got refund before re-ordering with right size.
Unfortunately my beige bra {aka my wear-all-the-time bra} has decided to impale me. So I couldn't wait.
I was whining to M about how it hurts and I wish I had silicone tape to just fix until everything got fixed and I'm not convinced the new bras will fit.
M asked if I only had 1 bra - I said no, I have a black bra {wearing today} but I don't wear it much because I have a fair amount of light clothes and I prefer the lighter one.
M finds it weird and said if I wear lighter colour bras, then having 1 doesn't make sense.

Am I solo in only owning 2 bras?
    Should I buy more? lol

Side note, wearing a bra where I'm not being impaled is really weird. This bra fits weird too :\

You only own 2??  Yes I think that's weird.

In the summer I will sweat more than in the winter.  A sweatier day means the bra gets washed.  If that means the nude bra gets washed then the black one can't be worn with my lighter shirts.

FWIW I have one reliable and one less reliable strapless, one racerback, 3 sports bras, 2 nude, 2 black, one low front black  and one pretty lacy green.  I have four bralettes as well that I added to circulation.  That's more than "needed" but I definitely think you need at least two bras in your skin tone.  I also need extras because I need something to wear on laundry day when they're drying on the dry rack.  The underwire bras get washed on delicate and do not go in the dryer.

@MissKittyDanger, I have two go-to bras and couple others that I never wear because they aren't comfortable.  I only buy bras in white or beige because I'm boring like that, lol.  But I agree with M (at least for myself).  I don't want darker colored bras because then I can't wear them with everything.  And I do not have time in the morning to be analyzing if a black bra will show through my lighter colored shirt/sweater.

Work is so dull right now (sigh).  I should be looking for ways to occupy my time, but that's the weirdness for me of when it is slow.  When I'm busy, I have energy and work efficiently and am happily taking things on left and right.  But when it's slow, it's like all the energy and motivation is sapped out of me.  And I procrastinate even doing the few things I have.
    Wedding Countdown Ticker
  • I have three every day nude bras, two cute bras, and three Sexy Bras that are only comfortable enough to be worn when they’re just going to be taken off, plus three sports bras and one strapless bra.
  • I have quite a few bras. The most recent ones I bought were from Third Love, and I feel like they fit the best.
I'm a fan too.   I also like Natori now as well and they're a new brand I monitor for sales.

FWIW, I have basically given up on VS underwear because I'm done trying to get them to fit me and I think the straps stretch WAY too fast.
  • I have two every-day bras, a strapless bra, a fun/sexier bra, a house bra that’s really more like a bra-lett/tshirt hybrid, and a few sports bras.

    @VarunaTT the date/not a date sounds like
     a nice time
    @STARMOON44 yay for vaccine #2!

A bit stressed at work bc my daughter has been dealing with some constipation issues. H just went and got her from school bc she couldn’t sit, only stand at her desk.  This has been ongoing and the school nurse has the pediatrician’s paperwork so she won’t need a covid test (usually if they get sent home they a negative test to return), but I’m just distracted here.
  • @VarunaTT when DH and I were 35 DH threw out his back.  How did he do it?  He bent over to plug in the charger for our 5 yo's Leap Frog tablet.

I'm now at the point where I have to turn down ice cream after 9 if it's a work night and I need to drink 1.5 glasses of water for every glass of wine.

And I thought I was flexible until I took a yoga class the other day and realized that I USED to be flexible.  You're in good company.

I'm feeling the hamster wheel of insanity today.  Between the requests coming in for work AND the kids on remote learning today thru the end of the week (because we're due to get a whole 3 inches of snow THAT HASN'T STARTED YET) we have a full house.

This is so me.  I'm still in the "gearing up to be super busy next week" and it's excruciating.  I'm so much more motivated when I have a million things to do.
  • I own about 15 bras - mostly variations of bralettes/sports bras and only 2 that I wear to work/in public that have a little padding so you can't see everything.
  • I really need to go bra shopping. I am still wearing some of my nursing bra's and My youngest has been weaned for almost a year! I feel like I am a different size now but I never go to department stores or malls since covid to be measured and I don't know what sizes to order online. pre-kids all my bras had underwire (I was A 34DD) Now I hate hate hate underwire. I have some padded sportbras that are okay but I know I need to invest in some new ones.

I also really like Third Love although I was really disappointed with their nursing bras. Everything else I have from them has been great!

I have way too many bras.

I hear Nordstrom does fittings and will even do them online.
  • Two more meetings then this crazy busy project is over. It’s been almost a month of straight busy time and I’m so looking forward to being done.
  • @NBSquared2017 I am SO happy for you! Sounds amazing!

  • @banana468 prior to pregnancy, I had a few more. Then boobs grew. Maternity bras until I went back to work, then bought 2 new ones. Have not added since.
    What brands do you use? {I have VS and not against, just .... meh on overall company}

@climbingsingle I've heard of Third Love but idk anyone who's done it. Thoughts?

@CharmedPam Lolololol Canadianized XD They have cute ones but with stores closed I haven't been since .... November?

@VarunaTT I'm not a vastly clumsy person but I've found I'm more prone to injuries as I get older - like bending over wrong also.
I've also had back issues since pregnancy that just are annoying a.f

Y'all, this getting older thing is some bullshit.

I fell and whacked my head pretty hard on Sunday.  Stayed the night at a friend's house so he could keep an eye on me and had to call it on Monday.  Came in today, feeling marginally better, and managed to tweak my back just bending over to open a drawer?

It just gets worse. On my 40th birthday, I hurt my hip jumping into a pool. It still hurts. That was SEPTEMBER.
I'll join in. Back in November or early December we still had a small palm size pumpkin (gourd?) on the porch so I took it and threw it into the field behind our house. I had an instant shooting pain through the palm of my hand and now I have to be careful about how I lift things bc any time I put strain on the middle of my hand (tendons?) it hurts. I would have understood my should or elbow bc I've had issues with those, but my hand?

VS fans beware, the CEO was friends with Epstein.  Not sure if he works for L brands anymore? this was written in 2019. I’m sure he stepped down:

  • I’m feel joyous today.
This pandemic was particularly rough for me. I was pregnant throughout and was laid off from my marketing job 3 weeks before I was supposed to go in maternity leave. It was a super shady situation and I’m fairly certain I had cause to sue, but I couldn’t if I wanted to collect my severance pay.
The last week in December a girlfriend of mine asked if I knew anyone looking for a job in marketing. The plan was for me to remain at home until Madison was a school age and return to the workforce, but I told her I wanted to apply. It’s perfect: 100% remote, great benefits, more money, etc.
I got the job and have been working with this marketing agency for 3 weeks and I’m so happy I took the leap and went back to work. I doubted I could do it, but we’re finding our stride and I’m happy I never gave up hope.
That’s my testimony for the day!
that's wonderful news - what a blessing in disguise
  • I have 3 everyday bras.  I also have a black bra that is the same as the everyday ones, I just rarely wear it as I have more light clothes.  I have about 3 old "everyday" ones that I've retired, but wear if laundry hasn't been done in a bit.  I also have sexy or fun bras that I rarely wear and a good long line bra.  I also have not worn an underwire bra in AGES - probably 10ish years.  They have so many good options without underwire now, even with my large boobs - there is no going back! clicky is the closest I see to what I bought last.  I love them!  Before I purchase my last bras, I figured out how to measure myself online and that helped tremendously with fit!

Ei - It seems like a medicine may be needed, but would your daughter eat prunes?  We tell DD they are big fruit snacks and she gobbles them up when we give her some.  We usually give her 3 at a time, when she hasn't gone in a few days.  I've also heard of other moms who need to give Miralax daily for their kid.

Climbing - Have you tried a chiropractor for your hip?  If the alignment is off, they can help get it back in place.

Monday was good.  I have a few tests my GYN needs to do, including an internal ultrasound to check on my PCOS.  I naturally haven't had a period since June 2019!  So I need to check on the uterine lining thickness, then I will medically induce a period and have an IUD implanted afterwards.  Anyone else have an IUD?  I know it will be easier since I have birthed a child, but any tips?  I will have H there to drive me home, just in case.  And another mammogram since I'm turning 40 this year.

    Not much going on today.
  • @VarunaTT, :open_mouth:, Just because I don't know you IRL, doesn't mean I am not dying to know what happened with the managing paralegal!  Lol.  You never want to see something bad happen to someone you know but, at the same time, I'm sure her absence is going to make your work life calmer.
I wish I knew too!  Honestly, she hasn't been happy here for years and it's reflected in her attitude. But then when the big boss finally brought someone in to start making the changes everyone (including her) said they wanted, she was definitely part of the stonewalling effort that's been going on.

Funny. I didn’t know about my PCOS until we removed my IUD when TTC. I had mine placed about 6 years ago and removed 2 years ago. I haven’t had a natural cycle since.
As far as implanting the IUD I took some Tylenol 800 beforehand and was okay. Minor menstrual like cramping and I was okay after a day!
