I am so annoyed.  I couldn't remember if my doctor's office starts doing blood draws at 8:30 or 9:00, so I called them.  Unfortunately, it was right after I'd sent my e-mail about the time off to four different coworkers, including my boss.

Come to find out, there is only one person in that office who does blood draws and she won't be there tomorrow.  Thank God I called or I would have wasted so much of my time and then needed to take vacation instead of sick hours for this bullshit.  Note to self: always call these people from now on.  Because then I had to go back and send another e-mail to people who I know get a gazillion e-mails a day.

This also means there may not be enough time for my results to come back, so I also need to change my appointment day/time to Jan.

I remembered to ask her my original question.  When I come in on Jan. 7th for my blood draw, what time do you all do those."  She said I could come in on that day and, the way she phrased it, made it sound like I could come in at any time.  Which I know isn't true, hence why I was calling in the first place.

I asked about times, not if I could go in.  So I asked her AGAIN, "But you all don't do blood draws at any time.  Unless its changed, I've been told you all only do them in the morning."

"It does have to be in the morning."

((throwing my hypothetical chair against the wall))

"Okay.  AND WHAT TIME IS THAT?  WHAT TIME DO YOU DO BLOOD DRAWS?"  I mean, I wasn't screaming of course.  But I was obviously PO'ed.

She finally told me it's between 8:30-9:00.  A whopping 30-minute window.  JFC, you'd think that's really vital information to tell people anyway, much less when they are specifically asking about the time.
Craziness! And don’t you have to have fast for those?  I always fasted for mine and then the other day my doc requested one and I was like “don’t I have to fast? I have to do this tomorrow morning then” and he’s like “not for this one..” (a1c) why have I been fasting for years for this thing?!?

Btw the ozempic .50 mg dose wasn’t working so he upped to 1 mg… and now that price is SO high since doubling it.
@CharmedPam - have you checked with the company that makes Ozempic to see if they have a discount card?  I'm on Trulicity and have a discount card from the manufacturer that drops the price.
Yeah I get mine through insurance so I don’t think it can go any lower than what I’m paying. It was fine with 1/2 a dose, the pen lasted a month.  Now it’s gone in 2 weeks :(

Double-check a pharmacy discount card against your prescription.  Your pharmacist can compare that for you and then go with the one that is cheapest.

I have the Good Rx prescription card.  It beats my insurance price for two of my prescriptions, so you never know.

It is pretty random though.  Some prescriptions, the card doesn't lower it at all.  But I had one where it lowered it from $54 to $12.

  • I go through insurance too AND use the manufacturer discount card.  You might be surprised.
