Wedding Woes

Monday again

Hoping it's a quick week but I feel like weeks leading up to long weekends always crawl.
Weekend was quiet and low-key which felt great.  How's everyone?

My weekend was also low-key.  I just gamed all weekend.  At one point, I was doing something for my character is WoW that didn't take a lot of concentration and was repetitive.  So I turned the sound off and listened to a podcast about F1 regulations while doing the something.  I just thought, Whoa!  This is super nerdy of me.  Also bought some new VR games.  I only had time to play one of them and it was fun (it's a running race game), but it was one that made me somewhat motion sick.  It wasn't too bad and I think once I'm used to the game, it'll be fine.  There are just jumps in it and the VR designers were smart!  The haptic feedback cuts out when you jump and when you add the visuals in, I really felt like I was flying.  I actually said, "Whoa!" out loud the first time.  I usually keep my the back of my left calf pushed up against my couch when I play VR and I was glad I had done that when the jump happened or I might've fallen down.

I was supposed to go see movies this weekend, but honestly, I was just so worn out.  I slept A LOT, and just hunkered down at home, doing my games.  I'm not sure why I'm feeling so low energy.  I'm supposed to get more bloodwork done in another 2 months, but if this continues, I'm might have to call my doctor and figure out what's going on.  My annual didn't show any issues, so I'm at a loss right now.

Otherwise, SSDD.  I came in early today to try and catch my boss before he went into his office, but alas.  I missed him and he's already in there with a "do not disturb" sign on the door, so I'm out of luck.  I"m just going to start doing things how I think they should be done and when he meets with me, I'll take it from there.  I'm going to see Mulholland Drive with a friend on Wednesday, so that'll be fun.

ETA:  Huh.  I just looked up withdrawal symptoms for lowering my Lexapro.  One of the articles said it could lead to feeling "flu-like" symptoms and that would explain the last week or so.  I really didn't think just a 5mg drop would be so difficult, but I have been taking the 10mg for at least 2 years, if not closer to 3.
  • Low key.
Friday night BK slept at my mum's, so M & I went for sushi dinner. I took a bath because my back has just been stiff lately.
I slept in Saturday - glorious for someone who's slept like crap lately - then M & I went to the mall. I wanted to get new bras {wireless} and see if they had sports bras. They didn't but I have 2 new bras and I can suffice with my old ones if necessary until I get one for gym.

Picked up BK because my mum's bf is just having some long term issues from covid - still exhausted and nasal drip. I had that a week after my round too.
BK was half asleep when we got home, so she had a nap, I tried but I ended up just lying on the couch for an hour.

Sunday I signed up for the gym. Well - technically M signed me up because some stuff is under his account for now. Next time I go in, I just gotta sign docs and get my stuff he couldn't do dealt with.
We planned on doing everything but the play room was busy a.f so BK couldn't stay. We can sign her up in the future for when we go.

Later I had a wicked headache, so I lay on the couch. We did belated xmas at my aunt's place.
I keep forgetting how tall my cousin is. Good lord lol 7yrs younger and nearly a foot taller.
  • @levioosa, congrats on the new car!

I had a marathon grocery shopping day on Saturday.  But, other than that, didn't do too much this weekend.

Work is super slow and it's driving me a little stir crazy.  I'm also in this limbo where we need to start making more real plans for moving but, until I close on at least one of the duplexes, there isn't much to be done.  Other than clearing out our own house and starting to pack it.  We've started a bit, but that is a Herculian task.

My cruise leaves less than two weeks from now!  Trying to focus on the fun, to help keep me sane, lol.

  • I wanted to go grocery shopping too, and both my discover & chase have groceries at 5% off, but with me going out a lot this week and then leaving on Thursday I decided to live off the frozens I have.
@MissKittyDanger, GL at the gym! Does it have a daycare for BK?

Weekend was really good.  Saturday was dinner & a movie with meetup.  “A man named Otto”.  Sad.  A rollercoaster of emotions and it just hit home to much for me.
Sunday was a 3 hr meetup brunch for an organizer who’s leaving next month, and then I saw Corsage on my own.

also, movies on my own for the win.  I’m a mid row person - and the meetup likes backrow.  I’m going blind! Help a girl out.

  • Weekend was good! Saturday we took M to the botanical gardens- there is a koi pond and he LOVED the fish so much. He just sat next to them saying “hi fishies.”  Anytime people walked up he yelled that there were fish in there. It was adorable. And thankfully most everyone also had kids so no one was annoyed at his fish excitement!
As someone without kids, I would also find this adorable and participate in the excitement!

  • @CharmedPam they do! It's Movati :) We're planning to take her when M & I both go Sundays while it's crappy out.
When it's nicer, we might see if IL's or my mum wanna come over and watch her while we go
  • We have all the ornaments off the tree which is good.  I'm OK leaving Christmas decorations up until this weekend since they won't take as long.

Our tree still looks great so after the questioning of what place to go to for a tree with the local farms closing for cut your own the Monday after Thanksgiving I think we'll just go on Thanksgiving weekend this year even if we only get it in the pot to water it that weekend.

We went to MIL's cousin's home for lunch yesterday and I felt SO embarrassed after FIL and MIL found out that the cousin's daughter worked for a doctor that performed a procedure that didn't go well on MIL.  And they proceeded to say how much they hated him.  When I got out of the car I turned to DH and told him how I thought it was in such poor taste - not that I think much will come of it but man as my IL's age they forget to pack their filters when they leave the house.
  • Not the greatest weekend, though I did have some nice friend outings.  I have a migraine all weekend, and it made me a bit unreasonable.  And I had a nasty fight with MIL.  Hubby has a concussion, and the specialist is insisting it is caused by a mild car accident he had (he was stopped, they tapped him and cracked his bumper) instead of the multiple head hits he has had over a month.  Because apparently concussions are rarely caused by blows to the head?  I am about 90% sure they are doing it so that we can claim it though car insurance and they can charge us more money.  Anyways, he has made a decision for himself to go back to work despite the concussion (he is feeling much better) and go through our regular insurance.  She was trying to steamroll him and I just wasn't feeling it so I pushed back.  She then made some snide comments about telling everyone what I said because she is obviously right and I have manipulated hubby into going back to work because I don't care about him.  Let the man make his own decisions and back off!

  • @CharmedPam My book club is going to see A Man Called Otto this weekend.  I am excited, but I know it will be sad.

@charlotte989875 Sometimes I sit at a koi pond and in my head think "fish!  look at the fish", so I get his reaction, lol!

  • Does anyone have Toms shoes?

These look cute and I'm hoping to find and try them on anyways

I do! I like the boots and wedges far more than their original shoes. I liked them good enough but ended up switching to Rothy’s for my flats and sneakers and Sorel for wedges because they held up so much better in the winter. But if you’re not wearing them outside in weather then they’re great!

My last month or so has been very quiet and low-key, so I'd almost prefer to have something major going on in my life - as long as it's good.

    Get better soon @VarunaTT!

Literally what he was saying this entire time!

Wow!  Look at the size of them!  I'd be fascinated as well.  Such a cute picture!

  • That picture is adorable @charlotte989875! My grandsons would be doing the same thing.

Weekend was pretty low key. Finished packing Christmas stuff away and cleaning. Yesterday was church. Afterwards I didn't feel so great so just napped and watched TV all day. Still feeling kind of meh today. DH isn't feeling great either. We both have been a little dizzy and kind of funny in the head. He has been dizzier then I have been. If he is still dizzy tomorrow, I'm insisting he go to the doctors.

Unsure if they'll be outside. I'm thinking more work shoes - cute shoes I can wear from car to office. Maybe from car to a restaurant.
    Short time outside shoes.

I have flats for inside office - vans and just plain flats from Old Navy
