Thirsty Thursday

Feeling pretty tired and dehydrated today. I stayed up “late” (as in 9:30pm) last night and I’m exhausted.

But it’s sunny and cool and the air seems better now. M and I walked for ice cream yesterday and I stupidly thought he’d eat some dinner before eating his ice cream. He took one bite of turkey then asked for his ice cream. So ice cream for dinner.

Re: Thirsty Thursday

  • Ugh, my allergies have been kicking my ass this week. Also have been waking up feeling dehydrated, even though I'm drinking a lot of water every day.

Totally bummed that this weekend almost looks like a washout. Even if it doesn't rain, the temps are low. Totally sucks. And of course, it's beautiful today while I'm stuck inside!
  • I love ice cream for dinner occasionally.  M knows where it's at.

I got decent sleep last night for the first time in a couple of weeks. Finally.

Y'all are getting the weather we just had.  The weekend is going to be in the 80's and sunny here.

    SSDD otherwise.  Prudie coming up.

Sometimes I have ice cream for breakfast as one of my favorite abuses of adult power.

  • Allergies are kicking mine and BK's butt this week.
She's home because snot has dropped and she's got a fairly junky cough.

Overall she's fine. She may have some sinus issues, but nothing over the top. I know sinus allergies make me tired because it's right by the eyes.

Saturday is BK's last gymnastics. Afterwards I have to do a quick refund, then we're getting M something to bbq on Sunday.
As his gift and meal, I'm taking him to a butchery so he can pick something.
I'll grab something for BK and I while doing groceries - she likely won't eat steak.

Sunday M wants to go fishing, and my mum works until 9am - so she's coming over after work. We're going to do groceries, and weather pending on what else. There's a splash pad near the grocery store, so I told my mum I could drop her and BK off and the come back after bringing groceries in.

I also suggested my water table or park, that way BK can bike around.
  • As an adult I endorse ice cream for dinner. Sometimes breakfast too.

I am back at work today and hoping it goes a little better than yesterday. Yesterday was so overstimulating I had to work for two hours to calm myself down enough for sleep. Which meant I got a second night of 4 hours but at least I feel better today…so far.

Called bff on the way to work today. I love her but man are our lives on two very different paths with very different desires in life lol. We did agree to try for weekly phone calls which I think she needs. It’s also better than the one phone call we manage to get every 3-6 months.

My BFF and I have done this.  He calls me every Sunday morning when he's driving to his coffee shop to write his sermon.  It's WONDERFUL honestly.  Even the times that the calls are short b/c we don't have anything to talk about, but that's not usually a problem for us.  It's such a habit now (I think we've been doing this for a year?) that the few times we've had to cancel, both of us missed it and ended up talking each other's face off the next time.  Even when I visiting my friend in StL, I made time to take his call (it did help that the 3 of us were all close college friends, so friend didn't mind at all).
  • I have two teeth I need to get removed.  Definitely "my bad", I should have done it a long time ago.  One of them flared up yesterday.  It hurts and is making me feel crappy.  I spent an HOUR calling so many dental offices within my plan.  The best I could get is an appointment in 11 days (Monday, the 26th).  I just gave up after that.

But on a very bright side, we are signing a lease tomorrow with our new tenants who will be moving into the other side of our personal duplex.  The current tenant's last day is today.  We'll miss him!  But the new tenants seem great.  They exceed our income qualification and their current landlady gave them a great reference.  That person is selling the house, which is close to ours.  These tenants wanted to stay in the same neighborhood, so it's a win-win for everyone.  We hadn't had much interest from our ads and had put it on the back burner until our tenant moved out so, assuming everything goes well tomorrow, I'm glad we don't have to deal with worrying and amping up our advertising.

I was also initially worried that they'd want a later move-in date, because they don't need to be out of their current place until 7/31.  But they said they preferred July 1st for their move-in.  Yay!  They gave me the impression their current landlady is being flexible, so I don't think they're getting stuck paying double rent.

Ice cream is very filling, @charlotte989875, it’s one or the other!
@short+sassy, I had one removed last month, I was in a lot of pain with it being infected and glad it’s over and no more pain.  But the worst part of it was the gauze in my mouth.  Ugh.  I can still feel it in there.  Lol
My meetup just put Ren Faire up as an event. I aways wanted to go but never had anyone to go with!
Also, I don’t know who needs to hear this but it’s Southwest’s last day for 40% off select flights.  I booked Boston already at a fantastic price.  I have the hotels already.  I looked into Charleston, SC for kicks, but once I get there, I can’t afford a bed to lay my head down.  Ha!

  • It has been a busy day: Italian lesson, working out, taking some Amazon to Kohl's for ar return, Costco and the grocery store. And plus also I got a new bike. I have had a lot of problems with my old one and flat tires. The bike shop (different than where I bought mine today)  couldn't figure out what was going on with it. The last day we were in SC last month, I got another flat tire biking home from the pool. That was the last straw. I'm super excited about the one I got. It is a pretty blue color, has a nice comfy seat and feels like my old one when riding. I don't do serious biking so it is perfect.

Tonight I have book club. I've made a salad - a pasta, tomato, green bean, fresh mozzarella recipe from Lidia Bastianich.  The book we read is The Maid if anyone is interested. It is kind of a whodunit. I wasn't crazy about it because the main character seems to be functionally autistic and people were taking advantage of her left and right. I did finish it though.
