Wedding Woes

Sadly, there are few options until he does something harmful.

Dear Prudence,

I’m very worried about a co-worker (M, 60s) who is showing classic symptoms of schizophrenia. He’s convinced his apartment is regularly being broken into, his phones are tapped, and his laptop is being hacked. He thinks it’s his neighbors because they broadcast hateful messages over his Wi-Fi and he knows you need to be in range to do that. He has a habit of turning on those closest to him, believing they are part of the conspiracy, so even his friends are finding it hard to reach out, and his family are all out of state. I’m not sure how to help him. Management is aware and has chosen not to intervene. What can be done?
