Groom Alternatives to Suits

edited September 2022 in Gay Weddings
Hey, everyone! My fiance (M) and I (M) are getting married next year. He wants to wear a suit, but I honestly want something different. I don't want to wear a dress, but maybe some kind of robe or long suit coat? I've been having a lot of trouble finding anything and would appreciate any ideas or recommendations!

  • Congratulations on your upcoming wedding! How about a stylish jumpsuit or a tailored suit with a twist? You can find some awesome options that blend comfort and style. As for me, we went for the traditional style when we married. I wore a long white dress, my bridesmaids had matching dresses; my groom had an incredible tuxedo, and his friends wore great groomsmen's tuxedos. That's great that you want something unique. Don't be afraid to express yourselves – it's your day, after all! Happy wedding planning!
  • Law of attraction time - sometimes when I've had that I pull out the colored pencils and draw out the look and style I want to have.  It makes finding it easier because it then becomes elements that are easier search terms.  There are a number of tailors out there who will also gladly pull off the look for you if you have something to give them as a design.  Going to a warehouse fabric store and even picking out the fabric you want it done in (if you do buy it, make sure to get more than you think you'll need just in case they've got to match a pattern)..
