Dear Prudence,

I recently got a puppy and gave him a very common name. A family member is upset because they had a pet named the same as what I chose. I have been asked to change his name. I don’t care to do this but I don’t want to cause friction with this person. Your thoughts?

    This doesn't even deserve a response.  Keep the dogs name and bean dip them.

    But it would be so confusing.  If they are ever at the dog park or a family picnic together.  How will the poor dogs know which one is being called.  (All sarcasm)

    As an aside, not "Bean Dip" lol, but I have always liked "Bean" for a dog's name.

    You don’t even need to respond to this. Name your dog whatever you want it’s not like the dogs care.
