Slept HARD last night and still dont' feel totally awake at 9:30am.

N has his kindergarten visit night this week and i am very not ready. He's ready though- which is the much more important thing :)

Nothing much else to report - hope everyone is doing well!

Oh I had a list of shows to watch but remembered I was seeing devil wears prada tonight so I think that’s top on my list.
A vendor at this week’s conference had beautiful artwork displayed. This one spoke to me. Granted, I think a little over priced at $140 (I always think I can do these things myself, but probably can’t). I just put it up now. I LOVE this era, but matches nothing in my house! I love this era so much I posted a 1930’s old Hollywood murder mystery for meetup in the fall. I bought a dress for it already. Of course I did. Lol.

    Wow, kindergarten already for N!

I'm awake but also in and out of fully focusing.  Nothing even particularly preoccupying going on, so not sure what it is.  I think I'd just rather be relaxing at home than working, lol.  Pretty SSDD though.

  • J had an MRI at the hospital this morning and looks like he has a significant Chiari 1 malformation. We were hoping for mild or moderate but looks like it’s putting pressure on his spine. So we’ll definitely have follow ups. We were really hoping we’d catch a break.

    I'm so sorry @charlotte989875.

Feeling a bit overwhelmed.  WOrk is heating up with changes and running behind and I'm having outpatient surgery on Monday so I'm attempting to stay on top of house things.  Turns out my surgery is the same day as a final Chiquita is taking which is GREAT.  Let's have half the house having a stressful weekend.

We did go see our Goddaughter's Confirmation over the weekend.  It was a shot trip out to see BIL and SIL and was a great visit.
  • You guys have been through the ringer, @charlotte989875. I hope there is a good plan of treatment.

All the healthy and healing vibes your family's way @charlotte989875.  This has been a long road for J (and for you).  Good luck with all the next steps and follow ups.

I’m so sorry to hear that @charlotte989875. Nothing else to say the others haven’t but we’re here if you need to vent

  • @charlotte989875, I'm sorry to hear about the medical woes going on in your family.

@banana468, good luck with the outpatient surgery.

I'm sorry it's been so long since I popped in!  I do miss you all and am going to spend a few days catching up on posts.

My big news is I got one of my medical procedures done that I'd been putting off.  I had scar tissue from 30+ years of insulin injections that had formed hard lipomas.  I got those removed.  The one on my right hip was the size of a golf ball.  The left hip was worse and a bit smaller than a tennis ball.

I'm so glad they are gone!  But my recovery has been much worse than I was expecting.  It was a minor, outpatient surgery and I thought I'd be feeling great in a couple weeks.  But I've been uncomfortable and in minor/medium pain the whole time.  My first surgery was over a month ago, but there were complications and I unexpectedly needed a second surgery for my left hip.  I had that one last Wednesday.

I haven't found a job yet, but that's currently on the back burner until I'm feeling better.  I couldn't even do a "remote only" job right now because I can't sit upright for a total of 8 hours yet (sigh).

But overall, I'm happy and hopeful for the future.  I know this to shall pass and I will get back on track.

Glad you popped in @short+sassy. Sorry it’s been such a horrible recovery but it sounds like you got it done in the perfect time. Speedy recovery vibes. Is Ohio still on the horizon?

Ohio is still potentially on the horizon.  But my longer than expected recovery is putting that off also, since I can't do much more packing until I'm physically feeling better.

I've been looking at jobs in both the Cincy and NOLA areas.  I've been pleasantly surprised that NOLA has much higher paying jobs for my experience (procurement/purchasing) than I was expecting.  If I could get something here that pays at least $20K more (possible) than my previous job, it would more than make up for the higher expenses here.  Like property and car insurance.

  • So glad to "see" you @short+sassy. I'm very sorry you had complications with your surgery. I hope that everything is moving in the right direction, and you will be back to your old self soon.

Hi @short+sassy!!!  I'm glad to hear from you, I've been wondering how you were.  Sorry about the surgeries, that just sounds miserable.

@charlotte989875 I'm so sorry.  Those are scary, big strong vibes for you.
