Wedding Woes

Happy Hump Day

HR is in the building so I have to look busy. Last night I saw netflix’s documentary “worst neighbor ever” and it’s really well done. It’s by Blumhouse, which does a lot of horror movies, so I was surprised at that but super good. You will cry. Well maybe not you, but I was. I hope another season is in production. I also got another email from the production crew who said I could move my ticket to a day the full cast is back PLUs they put 2 complementary tickets on my account for any other show in this season. Nice. I’m going to ask my theatre friends to join me since I already am a season ticket holder.

I heard about that show @charmedpam but didn't want to watch because I've had enough of terrible neighbors (and scary neighbors). My manager is also here today but at least she's looking at the back of my computer instead of the front lol.

Not too much to report here. It's the week of my brother's passing from last year. I feel okay so far. I had a couple hard months a few months ago which was kind of odd timing but I guess pretty typical overall for how I tend to process things. We are going out with my parents on Friday to get them out of the house (Friday a year ago is when we found him). I am hoping his mentally ill ex-girlfriend doesn't try something at their house this week. For awhile she was breaking in and being very Heathcliff about it (literally, unfortunately). I told my mom to put tape on all of the entry points of the place he passed away and if those are broken to call the police. It just sucks that's an added stress to what is already a sad week. I'll be relieved when it's over.

Otherwise, SSDD. I have cold calls to make this afternoon (boooo).

  • @CharmedPam, I need to sign up for a month or so of Netflix.  That Jeffrey Paschel guy from 90 Day Fiance is on a "worst exes" show.  Something like that.

IDHD has a crime series about bad blood between neighbors that usually erupted into murder.  I found this series especially interesting and have seen all the episodes, but they ended the series a long time ago.

Nothing as bad as that!  But we're having an issue with a neighbor from one of our rentals.  He's elderly and his daughter handles his affairs now.  Their insurance company complained about a branch hanging over their carport and they need to remove it.  It's at least 3' higher and not even touching it.  It's from a tree in our backyard and she wants us to cut it down.  We nicely explained...multiple times...that they're responsible for anything over the property line. This is well worn case law, especially because we would need to be on their property to remove it.  Heck, at our own house, we have trim back branches from various neighbor's trees 1-2x/year.  She became so harassing about it, we told her she could no longer contact us about this issue.

Still nothing much going on with me, which is a whole story of woe I won't get into.  I'm now stuck in New Orleans for at least the next month, maybe longer.  My H needs major dental work, ie have his remaining teeth removed and get dentures.  We want at least the teeth extractions while he is still under Medicaid.  Similar with me.  After having to do a couple scans, including a CT, and then waiting THREE weeks for my endocrinologist to get back to me.  I finally have an appointment to see an endocrine surgeon(?) about my parathyroid.  But it's a month away and then I don't know how long it would be to get the procedure scheduled after that.

Tropical Storm Bertha is thankfully shaping up to be a non-event for NOLA, but further south in Louisiana may not be so lucky and my prayers go out to them.

I hope things have been going well for this group.  I'm going to go catch up on posts.

  • When I first started my job I had to do cold calls @levioosa. Hated them. Im so sorry you have to worry about that at this time. Grieving is enough without that added stress. Hopefully she stays away.
Nice to see you @short+sassy. I did see that Jeffery Pascal ep.  He’s a jerk, creep, tool, jack@$$ and all in between. And Varya is STILL standing by him. I think she’s doing it for a rent free place to live in the States TBH.
Ouch on those procedures but you’re smart to stay in State until it’s done.

Oh yeah!  People give Varya a lot of crap online for staying with him.  But I think she's crazy like a fox.  She gets money for managing his rentals and a free place to live.  All she has to do is stay in touch and defend him a bit online.

She used to visit him in prison once a week, but a few years ago became "concerned" that metal detectors cause cancer (something like that) so she doesn't even do that anymore, lol.

@levioosa, I'm sorry to hear it's around the anniversary of your brother's passing.  I hope your parents are going to be okay also and his ex stays away.
