Hope everyone has fun weekend plans! I set aside the weekend to spend time with the family. It’s been 2 months since I last went.
I saw Hadestown last night in the theatre with friends. I REALLY like that movie theaters are putting out concerts and musicals for people who can’t make the real thing.  I did see the actual Hadestown touring group for it last year in Chicago, but I wasn’t impressed. I was also freezing in the theatre and had obstructed view and just annoyed that I paid $175 for that. Sooooo I have an amc pass. This is “free” (included in my subscription). I again, didn’t love it. I wanted to! A lot of people speak highly of it and it won so many awards. I dunno, the actors were exaggerated. The storyline dragged, it was complex and the singing wasn’t really up to par.  I even bought hadestown merch when I went because I love Greek myth. Six is coming to theatre's too, and I highly recommend you get out to that one.

I've never heard of Hadestown. Bummer about spending so much for something you didn't necessarily enjoy.

Work today. It's the anniversary of the day we found my brother. I'll be glad when the day is over. We are going to dinner tonight with my parents.

Microneedling tomorrow so I'm going to be a red flaky mess after that for a week. But I'm glad it will be done. Otherwise not too much is happening here.

  • @levioosa Hadestown has been pretty popular as the new hit musical.  A local HS just did it and Chiquita saw it in NYC in April.   I am guessing this is going to be subjective.  I didn't see it but she has loved it.

Vibes and hugs your way @levioosa, anniversaries are hard.  I hope the ex-gf doesn't do anything to upset your parents.

I haven't felt the pull to see Hadestown although I would enjoy Six on a movie screen.

I had my follow up mammo and ultrasound and it wasn't great.  There's a small mass and the next step is a biopsy.  I told myself it was a density issue so I'd sleep at night, but deep down I think I knew if they were only concerned with one breast, it was something more.  But it very well could be a benign cyst, or something.  The biopsy is Monday, I'm sure it's nothing but I'm feeling stressed and upset.  I was going to ask my mom to watch the kids bc it takes around two hours, but I might ask her to come with me instead, I didn't like being alone today.

The kids' last day of Arts Camp was also today, they enjoyed these last four weeks.  Definitely just doing pizza and a movie tonight, after the pool.  Tomorrow looks to be quiet and on Sunday the kids are altar serving and FIL is coming along to mass, and then back to our home for brunch, he likes to visit around the kids' birthdays.

Oh @ei34 I'm so sorry. I'm sending you all of the vibes and I hope everything comes back benign. Bring a support person. I'm glad it is being done so quickly.  I know this is scary. I know it's probably hard to keep from thinking about all of the "what-ifs" but continue to remind yourself this is a "needs more information" scenario, not anything definitive. Try to do something fun and for you this weekend. All of the hugs your way.

  • I wish there was a hugs emoji. All the good vibes to you @levioosa. Anniversaries are very difficult. @ei34 you will be in my prayers. Hopefully it is just a benign cyst. I know the weekend will be long for you. Take your Mom with you.

This is race weekend in Indy. We have company as usual. They are the people with whom we are going to Scotland in a little over a week. I'm salty with them about some things so really don't want to be with them now (we made the trip plans almost a year ago). I can see this friendship cooling if we move. My H and the H of the couple have been friends since freshman year in college (over 50 years). However, the reason we see them every year (2 times) is because we live in Indy, and he has always been a race person. My H enjoys going to the races now but was never a race person previous to living here. I am not a race person and have always resented having company twice a year, especially with on being a holiday weekend (Memorial Day). I do my own thing on race day now that the kids are all grown (I use to be the designated babysitter for their kids), so I'll get over it.

I hope everyone has a good weekend.
