mmm Schwan's ice cream cones.

The weekend I'm most looking forward to is the Basilica Block Party (<link). The big 'ol Catholic church here started this as a fundraiser like 20 years ago when the church needed repairs. Now it's an awesome 3-day music fest with tons of beer. They actually shut down parts of the freeway and have the concert on/under it.

    Church now:

Last summer (watching Guster.) Note the freeway signs ;)

    TWINS GAMES

    and outdoor patio happy hours.
    (sushi)

    (greesy bar food)

  • is all I have to say

  • Oh, so true, Koda! The cable cars made me immeasurably happy when I was out there. We stayed right in Union Square and the sound of the cable cars in the morning/night made me so glad.
  • Koda, Cadbury Cream Eggs ARE THE ZOMG SHIIIIIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Yay Spain! I LOVED Spain.

Also, I bought the pink shoes! So that's definitely cheering me up :P
  • I am excited because Farm Babies started at the MN Zoo today, and baby goats, pigs and cows make me smile.

I am looking forward for my vacation to Idaho in May. My best friend is there, and is due the end of April with her first baby, and I can't wait to meet him.

I am also looking forward to the MN State Fair. That however is at the end of summer, and I am ready for a few months of warmth before it gets cold again.

Hunter sharing State Fair mini donuts. :)

I bought my tomato seeds this week and I can't wait to plant them and watch them grow - no pics but I got great whites, snow berries, and orange and green beefsteak heirloom varieties. I'm going to buy more seeds this weekend for carrots, shallots, green onions and whatever else strikes my fancy. I'm going more for FUN this year in my garden, as opposed to functionality. My garden is my pride and joy every year!

I said "What a rip off!" but then their gooey yummyness tempted me too much and I bought them anyway. Have you seen the mini ones? They look so cute but I can't decide if I would miss out on the full size ones if I bought these.

I've had the mini ones. LET DOWN. Don't waste your time :)

OOOH! Another thing I'm looking forward to is that my sister and my dad are stock piling a bunch of Aussie easter eggs for me to have when I go home (two months after easter, but hey, postage is expensive). I'm excited for that! Chocolate tastes different everywhere, and I love the home stuff.

    Yummmm, Cadbury eggs....

I'm looking forward to baking cupcakes with DH. (He's very good at helping with the decorating, actually.)

Going fishing, maybe even in Colorado.

Building our own house (hoepfully in a few years.)

Water sports at the lake (I learned to ski last summer.)

Visiting the Grand Canyon when it's NOT freezing. ;)

Also, going to baseball games with DH and playing with my nephews. :)

Totally true. I feel like they add SO much sugar to American chocolates. German and English ones are perfect for me.

[QUOTE]In Response to Re: Shiit. We need a damn Cheer-Up Session! : There definitely is something different about it. I don't eat chocolate here anywhere near as much because I don't like it as much. Even between Australia and New Zealand there's a slight difference. I love "home" chocolate. The Cadburys factory that supplies most of Australia and NZ's Cadbury chocolate is in Hobart, where I'm from. I is lucky. :)

Well in that case I am going to get my parents to bring me back some chocolate when they go down there next winter. yum!

    No pictures but...

I'm excited to garden and make my yard look pretty now that we finished cleaning up the mess last year the previous owner left for us and we have room to plant.

I'm excited to ride the new bikes my mom gave us that she won at a casino (stuff that like happens to her all the time.

Really looking forward to our bridal shower, my bachlorette party and our wedding! :)

I agree. I don't have much of a sweet tooth, but my friend brought back some chocolate from a trip to Germany and I couldn't get enough of it. One kind had some orange goo (for lack of a better word) in the center and it was like a chocolate orange, but 1,000 times better.

  • I don't have any pictures of anything that makes me happy in my work computer, but everyone else's pictures make me happy. I guess that counts, right?

April and AATB are pretty and that's happy making. Also, the picture of the bridge is awesome, I hope to go there someday.

  • Koda, I have a friend who's getting boobs this summer. She asked her mom to pay for it instead of someday paying for her wedding, and her mom is on board. Her surgery is in June. When we go to the gym to run, all she can talk about is how excited she is to get ridiculous boobs. I'm excited for her, lol.

  • AATB: Tell her is feels like someone is sitting on your chest for teh first few days but it gets better after that. It will be about 7-10 weeks before she can run again after the surgery. She should take two weeks off work if she can.

  • April - right!? I have to wear two friggen sports bras!

YIO - She knows a couple other people who have had it done, so she knows what to expect. And she is taking a little time off of work - I think about a week and a half. She's a server at an Applebee's, and her doc told her she could go to work, she just couldn't lift things heavier than 5-10 lbs. So yeah... she will have a lot of help running plates to her tables! We are also planning on running a 10k together in May so she will probably have her running done for a little while, while she recovers :)
