Nighties?

www.goodreads.com : You input the books you've read/currently reading/want to read. You can add friends and check out the books that they've read/want to read/are reading. It's awesome.

I like the Kindle because it's from Amazon and the price was right (and I think it's $20 less than it was when I bought it). The Nook is from Barnes and Nobles and you can only get books from Barnes and Nobles OR if your library supports the e-lending, you can borrow books from them. The Kindle is soon going to be able to do that.

Nates would have to tell you about the Kobo from Borders, but I know she really likes it.

I LOVE my Kindle. I would like it if it were color, but the Kindle is so easy to read, and use. I'm fairly electronically impaired, and I still handled it really well. Amazon has a TON of free books, and they have limited free/on sale books as well.

Also, if you get the Kindle (which I highly recommend), there's a website called Pixel of Ink that searches all the free books on Amazon, and puts them all into a handy little list. It's cool. Then I don't have to search through all the (sometimes) weird genres to get to a good book.

Hmm... fantastic, thanks

think i'm going with the kindle lol.
I've literally wanted one for years... just been putting it off cause I think I'd miss my books... but travelling a lot lately has made me realize the portability and ease of an e-reader... and now I REALLY want one lol.
My birthday is in a couple weeks (oy! this one snuck up on me!) so I'm gonna wait til after that just to make sure I don't get it for my birthday and then I'm buying it for myself haha.

That's basically what I did. I still buy regular paperback books a lot, but having a bunch in one spot has really made reading easier. I read quickly, so I'd finish a book, and then have to carry another replacement around with me. I had a rather large purse. Haha.

yeah... FI laughed at my "back-up" book... but quickly understood the need for it when I was finished with both 12 hours into our trip lol

I went to the East Coast with my grandparents when I was 14. I had a separate carry-on for my books, I think I had 15 or something. I was finished with all of them within the first 5-6 days. And we were doing all the touristy stuff, so it's not like I had a lot of time to just sit and read. hahaha.

I've started my bookshelf hehe... i'll update it more when I get my kindle. is it pretty self-explanitory on how to get the books on there and how to access the free ones etc?
