Place for Fiance to get a Clean Shave

Hello Ladies,

I have 9 days left!

Do you know any place my fiance can go to get a NICE clean shave around the Utica area?  A blade shave with a hot towel.

I'm confused. Is he not capable of shaving his own face? I have never heard of this before. FI shaves all the time with a razor and shaving cream and it looks pretty good. I'd say, go out and buy a can of shaving cream and a nice razor and call it a day.

I don't know of a place in Utica but Trim in Clawson offers this service and it's an AWESOME place - well I've never been there but DH LOVES it.  But I'd think that most old school barbers would do this too and I think there are a couple in downtown Utica.

    Nine Days!!!  Enjoy!

I was going to suggest an old school barber shop as well.  I'm picturing a 60 year-old barber who's been in business for 40 years.  LOL!

Corinne, she is asking about this:

It is an old-fashioned method of shaving and, generally, provides a much closer/cleaner shave than using an electric or disposable razor.

FI wants one of those too! his beard can be pretty unruly, and he just wants it to look extra good the day of! ::off to hunt for an ann arbor barber::

as an aside: i'm going and having someone give me a facial... and do my hair, and my makeup, and touch up my eyebrows, and do my nails for the wedding. it would be hyporitical of me to make a remark about a guy going and getting a relaxing professional shave as a nice treat for himself for the wedding day.

Ditto this.  I've never heard of guys going somewhere to get shaved, but I love me a clean shaven guy and definitely wouldn't object to Andy doing this!

I would recommend having him go try it out first before the day of the wedding.  My FI has gone to people that have cut up the back of his neck pretty good with a straight razor during a regular haircut.  He is planning on getting a professional shave the day of, but will be trying people out first to make sure he leaves cut free.

I have never heard of that before. Good to know! Maybe FI would be interested in something like that...
