For those of you who are 30 something brides

How long do you want to wait to have kids once you are married?

I will be 30 when we get married FI will turn 31 the sept after we get married.  We had a talk last night and decided that we are going to go on one more vacation after our honeymoon.  We are getting married July 2012 then we want to go away for 1 more trip that December then we want to start trying to have some babies :)

I was just curious how long the other 30 something brides will wait since everyone talks about the biological clock ticking!

We waited just under a year to start trying and I got pregnant right away.  It will be just over a year and half after the wedding when I have this baby any day now!!!!

It will be at least a year before we have the kid.  We probably will start TTC this spring/summer - so about 6-9 months after the wedding.

I will be 29 and FI will be 30, we want to start having kids right away. We bought our house over 3 years ago and I have an MBA, steady job and hes finishing school and should be done next spring, also has a steady job (as steady as one can get in this economy) so we are ready. The whole family is hoping for a HM baby.

Awesome we are in the same boat we will have owned our house for 3 years by the time we are married.  I have a steady good paying job but FI is looking for a permanent teaching job!  Hopefully he will find one for next Sept.  Right now he is a permanent sub.

I want to wait a bit (but not too long). I think we'll try in 2 years or so. I want to get that first one in under the 35 mark. LOL

We waited about 6 months. We are trying hopefully now. We are planning a big trip to Hawaii this summer. Hopefully I will be pregnant. I feel safer staying state-side. Originally we were going to do Europe again. I definitely feel like this Hawaii trip will be our last big trip for 18 years!!! ha ha Thats why we are going all out!

We'll going to start trying pretty soon.  We've already been together for a long time so we've had the vacations and the time alone.  Now I want to start a family.

I'm 30 now, J is only 27, she'll be 28 this November. We'll probably wait 2 years at which point I will attempt to become pregnant. She wants to mother a child at some point too, but since she's almost 3 years younger I'd like to give it a go first.

This is why my FI wants to wait until the december after we get married.  He said he wants to go on 2 more trips before we have kids so the honeymoon in July and somewhere warm during his winter break that december.

I am 33 and FI is 35. We would love to have kids right away but we rent right now and would like to get a house first. We plan on house hunting right after the wedding. It is too much for me planning an out of town wedding to start looking now!

Well, I'll be 30 when we marry in October and my fiance will be 37.  We have our honeymoon, a cruise we are planning for Spring 2012 and are now planning a trip to Italy for our one year anniversary and would like to start trying AFTER we get back..I'd rather not be pregnant on our trip to Italy but you never know, lol.  We'd like to be at least expecting our first by the time I am 33 and he is 40 :)

I'll be a few months shy of 30 at the wedding and FI will be 36.  We're going to wait a year before we try.  We want more than one kid (at least that's the thinking now) so we don't want to wait too long or else he'll be well into his 40's when we've had our last child.  Maybe an anniversary baby?

We also are planning on renting for a year or two before buying a house, so we'll hopefully be homeowners by the time our first comes.

I thought that we would try within a year.  Now we have decided to go to Oktoberfest and we still are unsure.  I thought this would be an easy decision but now that we have been married a while and have to actually act instead of think we just keep pushing it off.  We have been married 8 months and are 30.  I started a new job this year so that is somewhat preventing us from saying yes.  We also finally have money in the bank and can be a little frivolous and I dont think we want to give that up yet either.

I already have a 6 year old daugher from my previous marriage, and I am 34.  We are pretty much going off birth control in a month or so, and letting the chips fall where they may.  I really wanted to be pregnant again before I turn 35- I know it is just a number but it's how I feel, so we are going with it and seeing what fate brings us!

Let me just tell you ladies though, since I've been there done that, you can still have big vacations after you have kids- I brought my daughter everywhere and our lives are richer for it!  Babies are very portable.  :p

I didn't vote either because honestly I'm not 100% sure I want kids.  I kinda feel like it's something that's expected of me after I get married, and I do feel I will be pressured into it.  My FI isn't sure he wants kids either so it does work out for the both of us.  I'm still kinda young, just turned 28, so who knows.  Part of me is selfish, I dont want to have to do without my vacations/shopping trips/hair cuts ect.  But the other part of me thinks it might be rewarding...sigh...

We are trying now, about 6 mo. passed our wedding. Planning a big vacation this summer also! Once you have kids you have the "guilt" leaving them home, and kids at a romantic resort just dont make it romantic... I look forward to family vacations with kids like Yellowstone, but will enjoy the romantic ones now!

I'll be 35 in a month, and my 1-year wedding anniversary is Sunday.

We're not trying yet, but probably later this year. It still scares the crap outta me, though :)

Don't be scared!  Are you scared about possibly not being able to get pregnant, or scared of how your life changes?

I was scared about not being able to get pregnant w #1, and it happened right away.  Now, with FI, I love him so much, and our relationship is so good, that I know that even if there are any issues with TTC we will get through it together.  I know that is probably easier for me to say though since I already have dd!

As for being scared about how your life will change, oh your life will change, big time!  I get a little scared about that with FI because right now, we have every other weekend and every wed night to ourselves bc DD is with her dad.  Losing that "Us" time with suck, and honestly if I was a little younger I would probably wait.  But this is where I am at and the age I am, so I know god will guide us to the right thing happening at the right time.

My ex and I took dd on vacations to St Martin, St. Thomas and Lake Tahoe, besides more traditional 'kid' things like Disney World, and I can honestly say that yes the vacations were not the same romantically as they had been, but they were even better in a different way.  Since I have been divorced, I've been on a short 4 night vacation without dd with FI, and it was great, but I did miss her!  I know FI and I's honeymoon is going to be fantastic, but that will be the longest I have ever been away from DD and I know it is going to be a little hard.

Sorry I got off on a tangent there!  :)  Happy weddings, babymaking, and deliveries to all!
