Night Heb!

I own three nail polishes, keep gel nails on and get them done every 3 weeks. I hate painting my nails, but like them to be painted and gels hold up to my life without looking ratty after 3 weeks as long as I remember my gloves when we're roofing or siding or I'm trimming hooves, stuff I should be wearing gloves for anyhow!
That's awesome, Any! How weird that you were floating for a while. I would've hated that. Where I worked, they just hired for a specific branch each time they hire.
Posted by musicalsunlight
<div>Yeah, a lot of the time they hire a few people to float and whatever branch likes them will hire them. I was told when I was hired that most people are out of the floater pool in a month or two...and that was true, for everyone hired with, or after me. But not me. Lol. 8 goddamn months.</div>
• I will mica.  H can't deny me a trip to Tampa if it's for my education.  It's just what I need to do to be a good doctor.
image
• That really sucks, Any. Glad you have a permanent one now! Are the people cool at the branch? That always was the kicker for me. You can't work at a branch and dislike your coworkers. Your soul will die otherwise.
image
• Oh, and I do my own nails most of the time, (though I love getting them done) and I stick with my fun, sparkly, bright colors on my toes only, and use more subdued colors on my fingernails because I side-eye people in the professional world with crazy fingernails.

<div>They're all pretty awesome, and mentioned to the manager that she should hire me, so I'm pretty okay with them =) Even if I wasn't, this branch is so busy I'd never have to talk to them if I didn't want to anyway. Seriously, it was super slow today and I still had 100 transactions. It's not uncommon for some of the tellers there to get 3 or 400 in one day.</div>

<div>I miss getting manicures. I've had this huge disgusting wart on my right thumb for 5 years now, and I haven't gotten one since. </div>
• I don't paint my nails often, as I chip them no matter what. Toenails, on the other hand (foot?), I have painted always. I HATE my feet, and having the nails painted makes me feel better. When my fingernails are painted, I feel like I am suffocating. Typing that out makes me feel like a crazy person, but it's true.

Ok, Mica, let's do this!

• Congrats on more money and the new job, Any!

I always have toenail polish on and it never chips.  My nails, i usually do and nw that I have started my washing/lotion/wash again routine on the nails, it lasts about two weeks.  By then i want to change the color anyway.
• I forget sometimes that I worked in the hub of a college campus and then in the middle of the 2nd largest city so honestly that amount of transactions doesn't sound too crazy to me, lol. When I worked driveup, I counted and one time had 25 transactions in 6 minutes.
image
• My skin crawls just thinking about manicures and pedicures. I got them for the wedding just to please my mom because I think she was going to have a meltdown if I didn't paint my nails. I got a clear nude for my fingers so that I wouldn't notice it, and blue for my toes since it could be something "blue". The process of getting the manicure and pedicure was horrifying and absolutely awful. NEVER AGAIN.

<div>I was about to say, depending on where you live, that might not be too much, but it's definitely a lot for here. I'd say my average for most of the branches here on a typical day is about 80-100. It's not a big city at all. </div><div>
</div><div>Also, unless they were straight deposits, I don't think I could even DO 25 transactions in 6 minutes, lol. </div>

My nails look awful without gels on - they're very weak, thin, and crack. They've been this way all my life, so it's not the nails that have damaged them. I feel more professional with nice hands, but it's not an enjoyable process having them done!

• Bree, are you still here?
• I love getting pedicures, although usually I paint my own toes.  Painted toes make my otherwise ugly feet tolerable, IMO.

I have never had a mani or pedi and have no desire to ever have either. The idea of it freaks me out. I don't like people touching me.

I'm glad you said this though, everyone always makes me feel like a freak because of this.

I don't like mani/pedis and I don't like cake but I promise I still have a vagina people!

• Steffi, its not even that the process was painful or anything. I just legitimately have a huge problem with nail polish. I can't explain it. It makes me anxious and distracted.

• I've only had my nails done a couple of times. I've never been impressed with the nail salons so I just do them myself. But, I'm not a big nail person. I only own 2 bottles of nail polish.
In Response to Re: Evening! (early again, I know) : Duct tape. I swear.  I put duct tape on a wart on my foot, after trying everything else.  The wart was gone in less than a week.
Posted by crfb87
<div>I've tried it. It definitely works, but because the wart's so deep now (seriously, it goes down almost to the joint, and wraps around to the point where they had to try 5 or 6 times just to get a decent fingerprint. It's so nasty) it starts to seriously screw with my nail by the time I've left it on long enough to do any good, and I'm nervous about keeping it on longer. I wish I could find a doctor that'd be able to do something other than tell me 'Well, it'll go away eventually anyways." </div>
