Knot $ Signs for Venue

Hello ladies,
I just got engaged over the weekend and we will be looking at venues ASAP. I've asked a few places to send over information but I just wanted to get a feel for what the single, double, triple, and quadruple dollar signs entailed for venues - like the approximate price per head. We don't have a figure to spend yet or even a faint idea of what kind of budget we're going to work with so I figure it's good to be prepared. Thanks!

What places are you interested in looking? I got engaged in June and have pretty much looked at every place on Cape Cod lol so I may be able to tell you some prices.

Thanks so much for your reply! We are kind of looking at every price point as of now. We will definitely have a bigger wedding (I would say a minimum of 200) so we're already limited in that respect. This weekend we're planning on checking out Wychmere, Wequassett, & Orleans Inn.

Hey Sox Chick! Maybe you can help me too. I am from MA and want to get married on the cape next summer or Sept. We have 100 guests and a totla budget of 20-25000. Ideally we would like to get married on the beach and then have a reception right there or a close restaurant or facility. A more laid back venue would be better for us. Thanks for any help!

Ah I absolutely LOVED Wychmere but in the end it was going to end up being too expensive with everything added up -- there food/bev minimum for in season is $40k and with 225 people we went way above that minimum anyways. Did you love it?
My wedding is 225 so I definitely hear you on the limitations -- I felt like everywhere we called was 175.

Maron -- Have you looked at Poponesset, or Seacrest? Your number could also fit in the West Dennis Yacht Club which is right on the water and you can bring in your own caterer which saves money. Also, the Lighhouse Inn - which is definitely more of a laid back feel.

I am head over heels for Wychmere, but their 40k SUNDAY minimum isn't really the issue (of course it's supremely pricey and my fiance and I will be paying for a lot but if we have a year to save up we'll be able to knock a chunk off of that) - it's the food included in the packages. The package deals would be good deals if the food on them was better, but it seems like the food options on their price fixed packages vs. custom building the menu is no comparison. If we're spending that much money we do want there to be the best, but with a 200+ guest list we can't afford to go over the package deals.

Maybe you should talk to them about it? They seemed pretty accommodating -- tell them your concern and maybe they'll work with you.

That's the plan! Still looking at Wequassett. Orleans Inn wasn't our kind of place, though we loved the windmill and view.

I got married at Wychmere last summer (it was incredible!).  A lot has changed with their packages since then, so I can't really comment on the cost.  Howver, the food itself was awesome!  We have a lot of foodies in our circle and we still get compliments on how good it was.  We also had the brunch the day after our wedding at Wequassett and that was amazing as well.  If you have any questions feel free to send me a message.  Good Luck deciding!

DON't GO TO WEST DENNIS YACHT CLUB!

I just got married there this june and as the venue is beautiful, the food was decent. But customer service is awful. The wedding coordinator Wendy has zero wedding background. Extremly un-organized, very hard to get a hold of...unless she is trying to get a payment from you. Durring the wedding the bar and wait staff started telling our guests that it was last call at 10 and started picking up drinks to clear tables when they were new. We paid to have the venue until midnight there was no way it should have been closing up bar/cleaning up what so ever. Then we were interuppted in the middle of our reception and told we had not paid for things that were already paid for, that I know they had actually already cashed the check. It was the worst experience of my life. Please for your own sake do not go here.

Try the Captain Linnell House too. I'm having my wedding there next Oct. and having 100-120 with a budget of 130K.
