[QUOTE]Every so often I look at this list and try to read a few books: http://www.ranker.com/list/mla-board_s-100-best-novels/web-infoguy I found it in high school and I've only ready about 20-25 of them!

My favorite author is Margaret Atwood. We had to read Handmaid's Tale for English in HS, and I just loved it. My favorites of hers are Oryx and Crake and the Year of the Flood.

number 55- I am impressed- I HATED One Hundred Years of Solitude. Took me forever to get through it and I kept thinking, this has to come to some sort of resolution for the first how-ever-many pages to make sense, and it didn't. Just seemed like countless generations of a family with people all with the same names, and it was just really hard for me to keep everyone straight.
• I have recently discovered Lisa Gardner and have read 3 of her books - Say Goodbye (the first one I read), Hide, and I'm now starting Alone (but I'd suggest reading Alone before Hide - some of the Alone plot is given away in Hide).

I also like The Stand, It, The Dome, The Shining, Salem's Lot, and Carrie - all Steven King (actually most of his "old school" stuff)

Patricia Cornwell - start from the beginning. Postmortem, Body of Evidence, All That Remains, Cruel and Unusual, The Body Farm. They don't have to be read in order, but it helps to understand the characters as they develop (and there's a period of time where her writing seems to lag, too). Her entire bibliography is on her website, http://www.patriciacornwell.com

I liked Tale of Two Cities, when I went back and re-read it, without being forced to. Still doesn't work for Shakespeare, though...

Do not mess in the affairs of dinosaurs because you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup.
I love you Missy. Even though you are not smart enough to take online quizzes to find out really important information. ~cew
