Night before wedding

Hey all,

FI and I are having a pretty heated debate regarding sleeping arraingements for the night before the wedding. I really want to have him not stay w/ me the night before and not see him the day of. He on the other hand doesn't agree and I was wondering what some of you have done or are planning to do?? He's making such a big deal about it that I'm getting to the point of letting him stay but kicking him out as soon as he wakes up but I really didn't want to do that.

We lived together so I felt silly with the idea of not staying together AND I was a cheap skate and did not want to spend money on an extra room.

We will stay the night together in our vista suite where we are having our meet and greet the night before the wedding. Once we wake up in the morning and he will head out early to play golf and I go to the bridesmaids brunch mid-morning... so after that we won't see eachother until the ceremony

We will stay the night together before - we live together so it'd be wierd to NOT stay with him. I'm not sure about he next day, but I know we won't be getting ready together.

we will not be staying together the night before or seeing each other the day of till it is time for the isle. Im slightly old fashion that way. i want the first time he lays eyes on me to be at the alter

We'll be together until the morning of when the girls come over for hair and make up. I'll see him for our first look at 2 pm and then it's on like Donkey Kong.

We stayed together, as always. I would have never wanted to spend the night before apart, and to be fair our gorgeous suite wasn't meant for just one of us.

Spending the night together and then kicking him out in the morning after breakfast. I assume he'll go hang out with his brothers. First look will be somewhere around 2:30/3:00. Off to take a few pre-ceremony photos and the ceremony is at 5:30.

My BFF is trying to convince me that I should stay in her room and he not see me, but I really do hate when I'm not sleeping next to him. I never feel quite as well rested.

We got seperate rooms; I hung out with my boys the night before. An added bonus, the girls had to start getting ready at 9am, I woke up at 10am.

We stayed together the night before. Like PP's, We live together so it would have been weird. We also had a killer suite so we wanted to take full advantage of it. He left when Francesca and my girls showed up for hair & makeup and we didn't see each other until I walked down the aisle.

I couldn't imagine not waking up next to him on our wedding day!

We got up and he left at 10 am and I didn't see him again until our 6:30 pm ceremony. He hung with his boys most of the night as I did with my girls, so we got our hanging out time in. Plus we didn't want to waste money on an extra room, that was just our opinion, not knocking what anyone else did.

This is gonna depend on if we get married in MI or Vegas. If it's here I think my mom will want it to be traditional and not see him. If we go to Vegas, then we will spend the night together.

In some ways I'm old fashioned but other ways I'm not!

we;ve lived together for 4 years so we went in to the wedding weekend with the plans of staying together that night...but once we got there we kinda seperated and dd our own things with the guys and girls and he stayed the first night and then night before the wedding with one of his GMs and one of my friends stayed with me. I have to admit...the days leading up to the wedding we didnt spend that much time together and it was kinda nice....we each hung out with our friends and I think I was much calmer with them than I would of been with him (i.e. his mom made some smart a$$ remark about \his 17 y.o. sis not being included in the 'girls night out', which in fact she was invited to dinner just not the club after...and I would of said something \to him and it prolly would have started a fight).

PLUS...the day before Cafe Lago f*ed up so they sent up chocolate covered strawberries and champagne...so me and my friend got in our bikinis and sat in the whirlpool together eating and drinking....I couldnt ask for a better nigth before.

But...anyway...I think its whatever works for you guys...maybe have a plan for each way set up and see how things go once your there.

We are not staying together the night before. We won't see each other until our "first look" around 1:30.

He wasn't totally in love with the idea. He doesn't sleep as well without me. And I have to say, the idea of waking up next to him on our wedding day sounds really sweet.

BUT, seperating will build the anticipation and allow me to focus on what I need. My mom and sister are spending the night with me. FI will spend the night with some friends in a GM's room.

It helps that girls are starting makeup in my room at 7:30 am. FI would have to be awake and out of the room at 7. That would be pretty lame, and it makes him feel much better about spending the night elsewhere.

This is how H told me he feels and I thought it was sweet, but kind of silly. LOL a few months ago when he went away to visit his mom for a week, I can now totally relate. I tossed and turned and was generally restless.

We stayed together the night before and went our separate ways the next day and didn't see each other until the ceremony that evening.

We stayed together the night before and then he got up and left when the girls came over to get ready. We went out to breakfst with his guys and then they all went and got shaves and got ready. He came back to the room for our first look before heading down to the wedding salon.

He stayed with his best man in his suite, and my two bffs came and stayed with me in our suite.

I had to get up way earlier than he did on the day of our wedding, so it worked out. I was able to get breakfast and relax in our suite while we got ready, and he got to spend nearly the entire day in the lazy river at his best man's hotel before he needed to get ready.

We stayed together the entire Vegas stay, it was perfect. We have lived together for a while and so the being apart for the night before didn't really make sense to us. Whatever you two pick will be perfect!

Ditto this! We've been apart too long (LDR for 2+ years), so I'm sure we'll want to stay together. I originally wanted to stay apart (and my Mom insists we do), but it just didn't make sense for us.

I can't imagine my mother having an opinion either way about whether we stayed together or not. I am going to attribute that to the age factor.

We spent the night together in our suite. My sister really wanted me to stay with her but it didnt make any sense to me...we'd been living together for 10 years and like PP said we sleep better together. Plus we'd been spending so much time with our friends/family that we didn't see much of eachother those first few days.

We had a super chill night alone and it was sweet to have that quiet 30 mins together in the morning. I went to breakfast with my girls around 9 and by the time I got back to get ready for hair/makeup he was gone and I didn't see him until I walked down the aisle at 2pm.

We stayed apart. I agree it added to the excitement and anticipation, and it was really romantic actually, not even speaking on the phone for that time before. I just got given the beautiful necklace he got me while I was getting ready, and then we saw each other for the first time at the altar.

Plus, we had our seperate bachelor/ette nights that night, so it worked out well.

We are definitely going to stay together. I think it would throw our mojo off if we don't. He might go with his boys once the prep work starts for the ladies, but even then I'm not going to force him to vacate our suite.

I'm 30 (I believe you and I are about the same age)... my Mom's just very Catholic. She's been vocal about her opinions throughout the process, and I take her thoughts into consideration... but normally I do what's best for me. We've been very close since my Dad passed away a few years ago.

ETA: I would not decide to stay/not stay with my FI based on my Mom's opinion. I originally liked the idea of "extra anticipation" when FI and I first discussed it, but we decided that it wasn't right for us.

My FI is very traditional so we are staying apart even though we live together. I really didn't want to spend the extra money at CP but it's making him happy so it's worth it.

We stayed together for all the reasons people mentioned above and i wasn't going to spend money on another room for one night LOL
Husband was around pretty much around all day before the ceremony. We had to ride to the ceremony together and finalize the details so we didn't try to do a first look.
