Wedding Invitations & Paper

Website on invites???

Hey I'm getting ready to do my invitations and was wondering if it was appropriate (and how I should word it) to list our wedding website on the invitations.  We have directions, places to stay, information about the venues, and our registries on there. So I think it's important for our guest to know to check it out, but how do I tell them to go there without it looking tacky or like an after thought?

Re: Website on invites???

  • Reading these boards, you should put the website on the directions/accomidation card/some other insert rather than on your invite.

That said, before reading that, I did get invites with the website at the bottom (under "reception immediately to follow") Nobody has complained (then again, I don't have super fancy invites either. It's a simple cake and punch sort of shindig, so...)

  • I personally like it better on an insert as opposed to the invitation itself.
What did you think would happen if you walked up to a group of internet strangers and told them to get shoehorned by their lady doc?~StageManager14

  • we put it on our STD and plan on putting that as an insert we print our ourselves on little business card-size printouts to send along with the invitations.

  • I'd put it on an insert.
  • Can anyone help with the website the knot offers-- when I copy & paste my URL into my toolbar it doesn't come up. I want to put our website on our save the date cards
  • I created my free wedding website through The Knot, I love it, but when I copy & paste my URL in the toolbar it doesn't come up-- do I have to purchase the domain for $19.99 to have my guests easily access it? (where I can put the website name on the save the date cards & people can type that in & our website will pop up?)
    Thanks!
  • my website is through the knot and we didn't pay for anything for the domain and it works out fine. try typing it out yourself rather than copy and pasting it!
