Handwriiten River Rocks to use as place cards and favors

I am going to use these really unique river rocks as place cards and am excited because they will double as a favor for my guests.

I am going to have the lady I ordered them from write the names on the front and then a special word like love, peace, inspire etc... on the back.

I think it is great because I won't have to use paper place cards that will be just thrown away...these place cards my guests can take home as a favor!

What do you think?

I've seen this done and think they make great place cards, but really wonder if guests will think of them as a favor.

I'm weird and collect strange things but I would probably only take to work so I  threaten to throw at co-workers.

Think about some of your older guests, what would they do with the rock after the wedding?

Great for place cards but bad for favors. I really dislike the "random inspiring words" such as the live, love, learn crap. I probably wouldn't take them home.

I think they are amazing place cards but a terrible favor. I probably wouldn't take it because I wouldn't know what to do with it.

NOT a favor... but I would still keep it myself... Can you make them yourself?

I guess I am just different. I don't know I think silly plastic cheesy favors are worthless...I am also using flower seeds as favors...I have seen these rocks sold at stores and have even bought them myself to lay around in my garden so I thought it would be a great favor. I thought about matchbooks...candy...coasters...and other favors...but the personalized rocks just seemed so much more personal and something that would last as decor in someones home.

    Am I way off base?

    Thanks for the feedback
