registering

I'm having tons of trouble deciding where to register!  If you're already married, where did you register and which of those places was the most popular for people to purchase from?  If you're not married yet, where are registering??  I like different things at different stores and I know there are pros and cons...

Target was really easy for us, and it was the registry that everyone bought from.  We also registered at BB&B but only received 1 thing off that registry.  In my experience, everyone assumes you'll be registered at Target, so that might be a plus.

I am doing Macy's, Target and probably Sears.

My advice is that if you register at Macy's don't go during one of their registry events. I went to the one at Southdale on Friday. The employees were very over bearing and kept shoving their most expensive items in front of us and not asking what we were looking for or wanting. Every area we went in there were instantly 2 employees holding up barcodes almost scanning the stuff for us.

LS...that was my same thought.  However, I really like certain plates at BBB and I didnt really see anything I liked at Target.  I also like bedding at Kohls but nothing at the other two stores.  hmmm...

We are registerd at Target and Kohl's.  Kohl's has been a BIG hit so far, which really surprised me.  We chose Kohl's because it was the only store that we found dinnerware that we liked.

I think part of the reason Kohl's has been so popular is because of the sales and I swear I get 15% off shopping passes every other week in the mail.  And everyone shops at Target, the reason that was our other registry.

    Macy's, Target, Crate and Barrel.

    Macy's, cb2.com & Target for us.
We had a great time at the Macy's Sip & Scan event last month at the Downtown Minneapolis store. Sorry to hear PP had a bad experience! I would recommend attending one of the events b/c it's nice to go when the store isn't really busy and there are actually people around to answer questions and help if your scanner breaks. Plus you get free snacks and gifts :)

We're doing Target, REI, and Amazon.com. We figured that Amazon has pretty much everything, so that will give us lots of flexibility.

We registered at Target and Pottery Barn.  Pottery Barn's customer service is amazing!  They went above and beyond on more than one occassion, plus we love that store!

We are registered at Macy's, Williams-Sonoma and Sears.  So far gifts have only been bought off the Macy's registry (but that is only 2 presents so far).  We had a good experience registering at all three places.

We're registered at Macy's, Crate & Barrel, and a Honeyfund honeymoon registry.

    Good luck!

Just Macy's because it's big in Minneapolis, Madison & San Francisco which are our 3 biggest guest areas.  I hated the return policy for Target after my daughters baby shower so I wont give them that much of my business again!

Has anyone ever registered at Home Depot or Lowes?  What did you think? Did many people buy from those?

We're doing Target, Bed Bath & Beyond, and REI.

    Target because everyone shops there

Bed Bath & Beyond because they have the dinnerware I like and good coupons

REI because we love to camp and hike, and I know some of our friends would not want to buy the traditional sheets and towels.

We're doing Target, Bed bath and beyond, and Macy's or Kohl's.

We registered at Target, Macy's & Crate & Barrel.  I have to say that I wish, for me personally I would have researched a lot more because there is a lot of cross over for kitchen items on the three.  Crate & Barrel was a blessing for our new home and we got some great appliances and Target was a fabulous affordable alternative for our guests - and us, we LOVE Target!

Target and Williams-Sonoma.  Target was a must, because just about each family member kept asking "when are you going to have a registry at Target?!"  (We're still over 7 months out, too!)

FI and I both really love to cook and I love baking, so we decided to a higher end registry too from Williams-Sonoma.  FI really wanted to register for a nice set of knives, and we found the Wustof at WS.

We registered at Target, Bed Bath & Beyond, and Crate & Barrel. we also registered for a few items at Ten Thousand Villages, which is great if you want to support fair trade and have friends/ family that would be excited about that as an option.

Target: really super easy for people.  Many of FI's family live in the northern suburbs, and there isn't a Crate & Barrell or Bed Bath and Beyond nearby. That's something to consider. Everybody has a local Target (at least in MN) and I'm grateful I don't have to drive far out of my way when looking for a wedding present.

Although we didn't register there, I would actually now recommend Kohls.  Several of FI's family have seen what we registered for at Target and then gone to Kohls to buy it when they are on sale there (which is always, right?).  Guests can save a lot of money shopping at Kohls on some big ticket items (food processors, duvets, etc)....so that's something to think about.

I looked into both of those options because it would be great for the house. From what I could tell niether one have a registry program anymore. Menard's does. As a result I think we're just doing Macy's and Crate & Barrel.

We are planning on registering at Target and Macy's, haven't quite gotten around to it yet. I wanted to find out when the next sip & scan event was happening at Macy's but I can't find the infomation online, where did you go on their website to find out that information? I think it sounds like fun!
