Want to help me pick a second wedding color?

So Blue is my favorite color, always has been always will be.  So when I was thinking wedding colors I thought blue!  But I have no idea what to pair it with.  I don't even have the shade of blue picked out!  Help!  I am hopeless when it comes to things matching and looking nice.  So I looked online for some blue color swatches and here is what I came up with:
http://webdesign.about.com/od/colorpalettes/l/bl_palette_blue.htm it is the Classical Elequance Palette at the bottom.
http://www.colorcombos.com/color-scheme-17.html
http://www.colorcombos.com/color-scheme-16.html I don't like the green at all on this one.
http://www.colorcombos.com/color-scheme-23.html
http://www.colorcombos.com/color-scheme-42.html

So I guess I have two questions.  One which blue do you like?  And what do you think would go well with it?  I don't like light greens.

I'm a big blue fan, too!  My favorite shade is a true, royal blue.  I really like the third shade on the last link you posted.

I really want the blues to pop at my wedding, so I'm using blue accents against a palette made of a lot of soft, creamy, neutral-ish colors.  Champagne, ivory, soft orange, white, and a light blush pink.  You're on Pinterest, right?  My "Walking Down the Aisle" board should give you an idea of what I'm talking about.

Basically, I've decided I'm not a huge fan of weddings that pick two exactly colors and use them in everything.  It seems a little too much like a teenager's bedroom to me.  So I'm doing a royal blue "main color" with a varying background, if that makes sense.

I'm with Elle. I think you should pick a shade of blue as an accent color and then add a bunch of other colors depending on the tone of the blue you pick. For a cool blue you could add white, silver, gray, even black. For a warm blue you go with gold, cream, champagne, brown. You get the idea.

But that's just my taste. Peach was the accent color I did, but overall I just used different gold and brown tones (ivory, latte, chocolate, champagne) all over.

If I was doing a wedding re-do, I wanted to use blue, and I was getting married in the spring/summer I would pick a pale to medium blue-green color.

ETA: Something like color 3 in colorcombo scheme 16. It's so fresh looking. Maybe even a bit more green than that. But than, green is my favorite color, not yours :)

Have you checked out this site:
    http://www.theperfectpalette.com/

She has tons of inspiration boards, and you can sort by colour. I like to look at them sometimes (not in a planning way) because I'm terribly boring when it comes to combining colours. I like to see how different colours can work together.

You can definitely do as many colors as you want, just be tasteful about it.  If you choose seven different colors that are all loud and bright, it's going to be a little overwhelming.  Choose a unifying color and then go nuts with your background.  That's what I'm doing, anyway.

I'm not a huge fan of the varying shades of blue bridesmaids idea.  Unless you're working with a really pale blue, I view blue as more of a main color, so you want to keep it pretty uniform.

    That's just my opinion, though.

You could organize the books by genre and use that to "number" your tables.  Of course, you could number the tables as well to avoid confusion, but just think:  people could be seated at the "mystery" table or the "fantasy" table or the "biography" table or the "young adult" table...  Oh, I might have to steal this idea.

We were kind of thinking of doing that.  Except some of the tables would be by series, because we read a lot of fantasy!   BTW steal away.  I'll try to find the link that I had to the book idea that tipped me off.

I also love that color palette, but you don't think it feels a little... wintery, maybe... for a Spring wedding?  What if you did something similar but included a few pops of yellow or pink in the flowers?

Ooh THIS is pretty for spring! I love that pale blue color for the bridesmaid dress and the yellow keeps it from looking cold/wintery.

THIS one is very similar and also beautiful.

If you're going with some kind of old book theme, I like these palettes a little better than the dark blue one you just posted. That one is lovely, but it looks a little formal and it doesn't sound like that's what you're going for.

Ray - How do you feel about purple?  I found this:

and if you don't like the lime green, a little yellow or ivory would work, too.

Ana - I would love the link!

[QUOTE]In Response to Re: Want to help me pick a second wedding color? : Exactly what I was going to say. I love these for spring/summer - but again, the blues I love always have a little green so maybe I'm not helping :/ 1) <a href="http://www.theperfectpalette.com/2011/05/teal-aqua-dusty-aqua-gold-white.html" rel='nofollow'>http://www.theperfectpalette.com/2011/05/teal-aqua-dusty-aqua-gold-white.html</a> 2) There's a pile of books in this one! : <a href="http://www.theperfectpalette.com/2011/03/daisy-days-giveaway-spring-is-here.html" rel='nofollow'>http://www.theperfectpalette.com/2011/03/daisy-days-giveaway-spring-is-here.html</a> 3) So soft and romantic: <a href="http://www.theperfectpalette.com/2010/03/aqua-chocolate-brown-latte-and-ivory.html" rel='nofollow'>http://www.theperfectpalette.com/2010/03/aqua-chocolate-brown-latte-and-ivory.html</a> 4) I love this one: <a href="http://www.theperfectpalette.com/2011/04/enchanted-evening-powder-blue-camel.html" rel='nofollow'>http://www.theperfectpalette.com/2011/04/enchanted-evening-powder-blue-camel.html</a> I could go all day, but maybe we don't have the same style. Are you into the soft romantic look? Or are you bold, modern, quirky, vintage? What's your style?

I really like the last two you posted. I would like to see a darker shade a blue but that could easily be added. I would say romantic and old fashion.  I am not modern and most likely not quirky.  Thanks so much for helping me.  I am hopelessly bad at this stuff.

[QUOTE]Ray - How do you feel about purple?  I found this: <a href="http://kiokreations.com/2010/07/a-bold-blue-purple-and-lime-green-wedding-at-the-wyndham-2/" rel='nofollow'>http://kiokreations.com/2010/07/a-bold-blue-purple-and-lime-green-wedding-at-the-wyndham-2/</a> and if you don't like the lime green, a little yellow or ivory would work, too. Ana - I would love the link!

I really like that one too Elle!  Purple is my other favorite color :)

You could probably add navy or a deep purple to these like the one Elle posted and still keep the same overall look.

Ana - I love the Aqua, Chocolate, Latte and Ivory one you posted! Also, the Blue, Camel & Ivory one.

I love these blue combos too:
Navy Blue, Slate Blue & Light Yellow
Slate Blue, Powder Blue, Gold, Latte, Chocolate & Ivory
    Navy, Gray & White
Shades of Blue, Gray & White
Shades of Pink & Blue (for something a little more bold)

I could (and have many times) waste hours looking at the ways she puts colours together. :)

Hmm I'm really torn.  I like the soft and romantic looks but I also like the bolder looks as well.

I really like the bolded ones.  Do you girls want to plan my wedding?

I like navy and yellow together.  I think those where Kateanne's colors.  I thought her wedding was so pretty.

I wanted to do Tiffany blue and black.  Linens were included in my package and they didn't offer Tiffany blue.  I wasn't about to pay for linens, so I ended up changing my colors.  Technically, I really just had one color, red   I did have black tablecloths   I didn't really consider black that much of our color.  The only other black was our invites because I don't have a color printer.
