VENT: color issues

I am SO frustrated this weekend. My bridesmaids are wearing the new Alexia line and the colors are so new, swatches weren't available. The dress shop only had a tiny swatch. I went off that and took a small leap of faith. Then friday, the shop calls and says the colors are now available online. I see the color, it wasn't my color at all. I freaked out, dealt with it, had their jewelry swapped out and the color grew on me.

This is the dress and color they told me to look at.





THEN- i discover the same dress maker is using the SAME color name on other dresses but it looks like this:






so I was left with no answers as to which shade is right. Then today I got the swatch. It's basically the darker color and now I'm not even sure I like it!

I am so annoyed.

    Ugh sorry girl!! Maybe its just the coloring on the screen, or the way the light reflected off the type of fabric that made it look lighter :(  Are the dresses all ordered and in?  Could they swap them out for a different color?

    The dresses are ordered and will be in soon. Its not so far off that its disaster but its SO frustrating. I can deal with it and the new color is pretty nice. The swatch is nearly dead on to that second photo I showed you, except that the real fabric has a nice sheen to it.

    That is so annoying!  I'm using accent shades of blue, and I swear it is impossible to get straight ideas and images of exactly what people are talking about.  I wonder if this happens with all colors?? Or if it is a blue thing? 

    In any case, I think both are beautiful!!!!  And I think you are handling it all very well! :)

    Thanks. I just feel too exhausted to fight it at this point... its my color.. and it is nice. It may not have been what I picutred.. but as Tim Gunn says.. Make it work!

    I'm about to order Alexia dresses in grape. The swatch looks dark and the website looks very bright! Now I don't know what to do!!
