Medicals before Marraige license?

So..I'd never heard of this before but my mom just remembered when her and dad were married they both had to have some wedding prep physical done before they could sign their marraige license.  She had no idea if that was still the case as it was over 25 years ago they were married...but now I'm curious? Does anyone know?

    It's not required in Ontario, not sure about the other provinces.

    It was my understanding that it was a requirement in the States. I know for sure it's not necessary in Ontario.

    Figured it out!
    I'm actually in Sask, but one of my friends is just getting married and I asked her.  I guess it used to be a requirement, now when you sign your marriage license you're declaring your NOT related (which I guess was mostly what the physical was for...)
