[QUOTE]I'm glad you guys are seeing it with the same WTF goggles I am. They're so stupid. When BIL made that comment on the weekend, FIL responded with "I'm not sure how they were supposed to bring the gifts in person, seeing as how you neither invited them nor told them where the party was. Grow up." I really love FIL. :)

    I love this answer, so glad someone called them on their BS. I hate passive -aggressive crap. And so sorry about your kitty Sept. {hugs}

My H leaves me again tomorrow. So, I'll be tired this week! But, I think I've convinced my son to drive my mom up here for a visit, she has hip issues so its hard for her to travel a long distances, but I think she's gonna come over Memorial day weekend. And I get to see my kid. So bonus!

Nebb- Good luck today, make sure to give us an update!

Morning all!  Same old same old for me.  1.5-2 hour chunks of sleep is seriously torture.  However, I am in love with out swing.  I put him in it for 15 mins this morning after feeding him and BAM, out hard.  Mama got an extra 2 hours of sleep this morning.  Yay baby.

I'm looking forward to a time when we can get out and do things so I have something other than taking care of baby to talk about.  But, yay, 10 days!  We made it this far.  We're off to the doctors today (our first solo outting, eep) and hopefully he's continued to pack on the oz.

[QUOTE]Chels had a bunch of days like that last week. They suck. I guess it's good not to take it just in case. You can always use it toward the end.

That's my plan. We really only have one "full" week of school left.  Next monday and friday are half days (one for a school field trip and the other for parents/grandparents day), and the following week is a full week. That next week after that, school is done Wednesday at noon.  If I have no words of any sort of interview, I'm going to take my mental health day some day that full week.

  • Good Morning!

My niece is on her way over to spend her first day of summer vacation with me!

I'm trying to get all my math done now because I'm going to be busy.  We're going to tend the garden (there are some carrots that need thinning), try to spy the visiting vole that has arrived in my yard, have what she refers to as a "French lunch", decorate the sidewalk with chalk drawings, blow some bubbles since I found a huge jar of wands at the store, and maybe play some bocce ball.

[QUOTE]lbarr, I don't know the extent of your problems, but prilosec has helped me immensely (oddly enough, Whisky is also on it). I have gastritis issues that result in a burning feeling in my stomach, nausea, diziness, sometimes vomitting, upset stomach, etc. Luckily I haven't thrown up blood because that would freak me the hell out. For me, it really acts up if I eat pizza (which sucks). So certain foods are definitely triggers.

<div>That sounds awful Sesh :(  I'm glad the prilosec helped!  I am hoping it will help with some issues but others I'm pretty certain it wont.  I'm  keeping a semi-positive attitude though!</div>

Thanks kd and chels!  I love his hair and that is one of my favourite pictures.  That was just after we got transfered from a ward room to an empty semi-private.  I love watching Derek cuddle our little guy.

Owen makes my heart melt.  I just love his red hair!

Anna, wow that seems really early to get out of school for summer! When I was in grade school/HS, we didn't get out until the middle of June, then started school again the last week of August.

  • Sept - Your FIL totally rocks!

I'm working a half day today, DJ should be here soon.  Last I heard, she's sitting on the tarmac in the plane for over an hour because they lack...a PILOT.  Seriously?  Don'tcha think that's something that should've been scheduled?  FFS

Passed our dive refresher course with flying colors.  H did drag me along the bottom of the pool during the "you've lost your mask and are blinded, so your buddy has to tow you along" exercise.  I have a nice raspberry on my knee.  Damnit.

Tonight, I'm having dinner with a girlfriend, then we're going shopping.  So, tomorrow night, I have to finish packing and be in bed early so we can leave the house at 3:30am...bleh.  But, it's VACATION!  (BTW if anyone has any AMAZING Key Largo or Key West food / activity recs, I'd love 'em.)

</div><div>Ahh, that makes sense!  I'm from  the midwest, but more suburban/urban-ish type areas. I never would have thought about planting seasoning affecting the school year.  </div>

  • sept- they sound like a-holes- sorry! What is wrong with your kitty (I don't think I missed an explanation in this thread but I read fast....so sorry if I did!!

    Nebb- good luck today!!!

Blue- I don't think it's going to clear up. I hate the weather today. Traffic was a shitshow and my office feels dark from the lack of natural light we usually get from the windows. yuck.

I am doing alright today. Funny thing last night- I was elected to my townhouse's board of trustees! Craziness. We had our first meeting last night (they had to wait a few years until a certain number of units were sold). I gave a little speech :-P

  • Star - he had a total urinary blockage and went into kidney failure. They had to pretty much resuscitate him, catheterize him and admit him to the animal hospital until Sunday. He went from being ok on Monday morning to nearly dead by Tuesday morning. It was so terrifying. :(

  • He's doing better today, sort of. The vet called me and they need to give him some more fluids since he's refusing to drink. I'm not surprised...we bought one of those fancy fountains for the cats to entice them to drink at home, and while Toby sits there and happily drinks (eyes shut, little pink tongue out), Eli drowns his toy mice in there and washes his paws. He's just a rebel. ;)
