Second thoughts,,,

I purchased my dress at a sample sale got a great deal, it's an allure exclusive but now I'm having second thoughts.  I think I may have purchased too quickly, have any of you ladies experienced been through this?  My wedding is next October not sure if I should just deal with it or look for another gown.

Re: Second thoughts,,,

  • the dress looks amazing on you .. why do you not like it?
  • I think the dress is beautiful on you.  It compliments your figure nicely.  What is it that you're now not sure about?

  • Personally, I think that you look gorgeous in that gown! As a pp said, it really compliments your figure!

In terms of buying too quickly, yup that was me. I had a 5 month engagement so I bought my dress two weeks after we got engaged. At that time, I didn't know that dresses with color existed so I planned to add a blue sash to mine. Than I found the AA dream in color collection, also DB came out with theirs and thus, I became a two dress bride.

I would take about a month, since your wedding is in October, and think about it some more before you decide to buy another dress. Then if it is still bothering you, go look for another dress. Remember to think about what you didn't like about the first dress to avoid buying another dud.

    GL! :-)

  • I bought my dress a few days after we got engaged (special circumstance was that the engagement was abroad, where my mum lives, and I wanted to shop with her and it was my only chance) but I've had pangs of regret too.

It's so common on here, and it happens to some people again and again so I'd think super carefully before buying another dress. Weddings just seem to create this doubt in us, and a part of me thinks that certain people will always doubt these huge and momentous purchases.

Have a good think and take your time is the best advice I can give. Good luck with whatever you decide to do!
  • I agree with PP. . that dress is STUNNING!
Def. take a month or so and think it over a little.

but, IMO, the dress you have is amazing :)

  • I bought my dress a few weeks after getting engaged and got a really fabulous price on it. Then I of course stumbled onto Alfred Angelo's website through one of the boards and saw another one that took my breath away. The thing that stinks is that you cannot return it, and if you are lucky enough to find someone to buy it, you probably won't get what you paid for it. Then you will most likely end up spending more money on another dress.. think of other things for your wedding that you can put that money towards.

My advice- go try it on again with your veil and shoes and then you will remember why you fell in love with it the first time and do not look at any other dresses!!

  • I think that dress is beautiful on you! You didn't make a poor choice at all.

The second guessing it feeling is very common. There are tons and tons of beautiful dresses out there and it can get overwhelming.

Is there something specific you don't like about this dress?
