Wedding Woes

Good anti-anxiety/sleep aid for night before wedding?

Does anyone recommend a good anti-anxiety or sleep aid to take the night before my wedding? I have terrible anxiety and sleep problems, and I know that anxiety is going to be x 100 the night before my wedding. Does anyone recommend something that will work for me? I already take Lexapro (10 mg) and Lunesta (1 mg) every night, but they do not work if I am really, really worked up about something.

Thanks!!

Yes.  This is the place to come for medical advice.   Definitely.

Dude, I am surprised you are awake right now on 10mgs of Lexapro.

If the Lunesta isn't working, you may ask your doctor to prescribe a muscle relaxer, in addition to the Lunesta. Or you can ask him about prescribing some benzos, like xanax, or klonopin.

Or, you can have the doctor suggest something that's right for you and won't interact with what you're already taking.

Benzos won't interact with SSRIs. It's common practice to prescribe both. But yes, you need go to a doctor for these & dosing information. When Lunesta wasn't working for me, Dr. HS said he could give a muscle relaxer, too, which is why I mentioned that. So yeah, ask your GP or psychiatrist for medical help.

Also - you may not need it as much as you think.   I suffer from severe anxiety, and actually, at the time of our wedding I was unmedicated.
About halfway through the rehearsal, a feeling of peace and calmness came over me as I realized that I had done everything I could and everything that happened from there on out was out of my hands.
I had an awesome, carefree time for the rest of the evening, got an amazing night's sleep and woke up on my wedding day feeling refreshed and excited for the day.
Maybe it was a miracle. :)
