Wedding Bands- Check!

FI and I finally got our wedding bands, so excited!!!

My engagement ring has a lot going on, so I wanted a simple, plain, half-round band.  FI didn't quite believe that was what I really wanted, so he kept suggesting we look at options with diamonds, so I indulged him and tried them, but they just didn't work. Once he finally saw the plain band against the e-ring and realized what I've known from the start, we ordered a plain band for me.  I'm a traditionalist at heart, so it's just fitting for me.  Doesn't hurt that it was significantly less expensive than the matching wedding band for my ring....

I got an amazing deal on FI's band- saved $1600!

We still need to figure out what we're going to engrave in them...

Re: Wedding Bands- Check!

  • Woo hoo, I totally forgot that we had also got this done twto weeks ago.  It's nice being able to check things off the To Do list.  I'm finalizing my dress this Saturday, alterations etc., and we have an appointment with our florist too.  How's everyone else doing with their checks?
  • I keep telling my fiance that he needs to go get his finger sized and give me some ideas of what he wants so I can figure out how much I need to save to buy his ring. He just says 'get whatever matches yours'. Okay.

  • Woohoo!

I have gotten some stuff done this past couple of weeks too! We are now set with:
    Ceremony venue
    Ceremony musicians
    Officiant
    Reception venue
    DJ
    Photographer

We have priced out two different invitation places and have been to two different caterer tastings with a third scheduled for Saturday.

We are also going to an event tonight for one of the big caterers in the area that had a contest for a 'free' wedding (credit towards venua, food, flowers, dj, etc.) - keep your fingers crossed for me!

ALSO! NWR but we are finally putting our house up on the market on Sunday after getting it ready since September! Woohoo!

  • FI and I have gone out looking several times. Everytime we went he changed his mind on the style he liked.  He did immediately know that he didn't like the weight or thickness of alternative ring materials like cobalt and tungsten.  He liked the finish and feel of the white gold, so that made our selection a little bit easier.  After the 4th time we looked, he finally figured out what he wanted, thank goodness-lol.
  • ahstillwell why don't you just go shopping with him to get the ring?  My Fi and I just popped in to a few stores and priced various rings and then happened to pop in to one and got an amazing deal.  We picked out his and mine at the same time.
  • nice!  we should be starting to look at bands in a week or two

i really love the idea of a simple band too.  guess i'm a bit of a traditionalist as well.  just have to see how it looks when we go shopping i guess.  i might want some small diamonds, i might not

pretty sure fi is goign to go with titanium band or something like that.  at first he thought it'd be weird if our bands didn't match.  personally, i don't really care.  i mean, he's the one that'll be wearing it so i should hope it's something he likes :-)

  • Congrats on picking out your bands! This one thing that my FI and I don't have to worry much about. My ering has a matching band which I'll be getting. My FI has chosen to wear his dads claddagh ring. His father passed away suddenly two years ago so the ring is very special to him. his mom gave the ring to his dad for an anniversary present which his dad then wore as his wedding band for many years. I think it's really sweet and a great way to honor his father.
