I'm engaged! Virtual fist pump!! Ha, just kidding about the fist pump. FI proposed on Leap Day last week. It was pretty spontaneous and so us. I had just gotten home from work and sat down with a big bag of grapes. I hadn't taken off my shoes, or changed from my work clothes. I was pretty exhausted. He was playing video games (his after work wind down) and said, "Oh I forgot something" and got down on one knee. He took the grapes from me and grabbed my hands and asked. I had no idea what was going on but I was kind of pissed at him for taking my food! Don't take my food!!! Then I relaized what was going on, asked if he was serious (The question just came out! Of course he was serious!!!) and said yes! We celebrated with Chic-fil-A (true story!) though we did go out to for a really nice dinner the next day.
I was going to wait until I had a ring to AW, but decided against it. I haven't used the term BF since he proposed and I was running out of clever ways to word my sentences, so Fiance it is. And yes, for all the BSC newbs that come on wondering if you can be engaged without a ring you can tell them to page this girl. Engaged and no ring. It's cool. We've been looking and went last weekend and are going this upcoming weekend. My friends are actually starting to annoy me asking me to text pics of the ring (no ring yet) and wondering why I don't have one. Fi said he thought about proposing earlier that Leap Day and decided he wanted to do it, ring or no ring, he wanted to ask me. And I think that's sweet. We'll eventually get one and I'll AW the heck out of it. He also says that now our anniversary is every 4 years (I have no idea where he got that idea), and he thinks it's hilarious that people will think I proposed to him because we got engaged on Leap Day. I roll my eyes lovingly at him.
This might be a bit of a post and run. I'm just getting to work and I need to focus on this brief, but I figured I'd let the cat out of the bag. No plans on a date or anything yet. I did indulge my giddyness and bought a Martha Stewart Weddings magazine this weekend! Haha! That's basically the only "wedding related" thing I've done if you can even count it. That and not feel ashamed about watching hours of SYTTD and Four Weddings. Yay! We probably won't start planning until later this spring or Summer and I'm definitely thinking a 2013 wedding, though FI would love to find a beach somewhere soon and just come home and have a reception. I dunno about that, it sounds nice, but I kind of always wanted the "traditional" wedding experience. Talk to me in six months and his 'quasi-elopement' idea may become a reality. But I'm really excited and happy to have found the man I wanna grow old and have 463 children with!
TL:DR (Too long, didn't read) I'm engaged. It happened on Leap Day! Yay! No plans yet, but I'm excited.
