Happy Hump Day!

Only 2 more days til the weekend! How is your morning going? Anybody have good news to share? I'm not enjoying this whole daylight savings time so far... It's just depressing to be up for 3 hours before the sun!!! But other than that, I'm looking forward to having a day off Friday. I'm hoping for a spa day with my mom, we'll see if that works out. :)

Re: Happy Hump Day!

  • I got a call from my cousin last night. Her mother in law is sick so I'm babysitting again, at least for today. She thinks he's getting sick too and he's kind of lethargic so were just sitting on the couch watching tv. Hope I don't get sick too!

I loveeeee day lights savings time. It is a pain in the morning...but, I love having 3 extra hours after I get home from work.... It makes me feel more like a person and less like a zombie that only sees their apartment after dark.

ALSO, I'm getting married in a month and a week! And in a month FI will be home for the wedding... =D
    Photobucket
  • Hmmm my good news is that my FI has an official deployment date! It's such a relief to have an actual set date. Now I was able to give my current employer a heads up so they can look for a new nanny when the time comes, and I can start searching for a new job! AND I have a better idea of when I can start my studies to become a Certified Childbirth Educator! Wooo hoo!
    image
  • I normally love daylight savings time, but for some reason or another I have literally overslept every morning this week. Definitely not good.

In positive news - I leave in 9 days for our HM! Yay!

Congratulations Amanda!! That's exciting that is so close!

Amanda- I know what you mean, normally I like it too. It's just with working 14 hour days, all I do is work and sleep. Getting up in the dark and going to bed when it's still light is just confusing to my brain! Congrats on the wedding being so close! Yay! Binx- that all sounds like good things! What do you have to do to be a childbirth educator? Amh- yay for a honeymoon!!! Where are you going on your cruise?

I plan on studying through Lamaze International. Basically you are given a study guide and loads of books/readings to do, watch a few live births, I think you attend a few childbirth classes to see how they do it, and you have to go through a seminar. Then you sit for an exam. I'm hoping to get it all done in one year! But you can take up to three I believe.

  • Thank you ladies! It is weird, but I don't feel pressed for time or anything.  The only thing I'm sorta stressed about is RSVPs... They are going to my parents house (bad idea)....My mom thinks that I want to open them and hoards them until I get home (like every 2-3 weeks) I told he last time I was down to JUST OPEN THEM... and send me a recap through an email.

That was 2 weeks ago.... So people are either NOT sending them... or my mom is hoarding them again. I'd hate to bug her about it now because she is taking care of my dad...but...it is a little annoying. I mean I'd like to know if I NEED to order more tablecloths (they are on sale now...) or if I am good with what I have....

Is that a good thing, or a bad thing? ;)
Hey ladies! I am having all kinds of first world problems this morning! Ha ha!
H woke me up at 5am, which I still say is 4am, because I am not used to the time change.
So I decide to treat myself to Starbucks today, and ordered a Raspberry mocha. Well, they made me a Raspberry WHITE mocha! Was not what I was wanting, dammit!!!
Also, my really cute Betsy Johnson belt won't stay on right. I have to take a picture of it so that you can understand what I mean... hold on.

    <a href="http://cdn.cl9.vanillaforums.com/downloaded/ver1.0/content/images/store/1/15/818b6cd6-4ccd-4982-8f7f-400c71270535.large.jpg" title="Click to view a larger photo" class="PhotoLink"><img src="http://cdn.cl9.vanillaforums.com/downloaded/ver1.0/content/images/store/1/15/818b6cd6-4ccd-4982-8f7f-400c71270535.medium.jpg" alt="" /></a>
Ok, the belt should be like this, with the 2 center straps farther apart from each other.
But, because I keep moving around and stuff, this happens:

    <a href="http://cdn.cl9.vanillaforums.com/downloaded/ver1.0/content/images/store/1/7/d15c2edb-ff88-480e-9770-21ade8dd3f07.large.jpg" title="Click to view a larger photo" class="PhotoLink"><img src="http://cdn.cl9.vanillaforums.com/downloaded/ver1.0/content/images/store/1/7/d15c2edb-ff88-480e-9770-21ade8dd3f07.medium.jpg" alt="" /></a>
Center straps are close together, making the belt really loose and it keeps falling off. Damn it Betsy!

    FIRST.WORLD.PROBLEMS.

Don't think I wasn't tempted to do so, Sammy! Im ready to paperclip this shiit.

ETA: I glued it! HA ha ha ha!
  • The puppy has suddenly started to chew things again. He was a chewer when he was teething and he stopped, but now it's back with a vengeance.

CAB-I have some first world problems, too. I feel really bad that I absolutely loathe the idea of driving to Austin to meet up with a friend from college I haven't seen for years. It's SXSW there, which means it will be intolerable. I'm such a home-body and would prefer to drive to Houston (where she's visiting family) even though it's a longer drive because Austin is such a scene this week. I went to SX once in the four years I lived there, and apparently it's even worse now. And I feel horrible because she got us tickets to a day party, but I would so much rather have lunch and shop than deal with the ridiculous hipster hippies of Austin. I really want to see her (we've been on opposite sides of the country for 5 years), but I am just not excited.

  • CAB - no, hot buttered ass is not a good thing.  It's either allergies or a cold, and I had better not be sick for the High Holy Day for a SECOND year in a row.

Also, Betsey is a whore.  Just putting that out there.

Wow you have some tough chewers!

but are they real kongs? or fake kongs?  My dogs rip the fake kongs apart...but I still have a real kong I bought 8 years ago....still looks new... My dogs also love the nylabones, but  the jelly ones are baaad for them..and some dones don't like the hard plastic ones.

  • We'll see if this one stays up....
Yeah, he has a Kong, but they bore him (I guess bore is the word?), he'll chew them for a while and then he's done, even if they still have frozen banana or peanut butter. He really doesn't like rawhide, so I guess that's a relief. Right now he's chewing on a giant whole rib bone that I got him; he seems to like bones and his 'crazy critter' toy that he drags and whips around. We go on one long walk a day, and that plus some play time used to tire him out, but I think he's gotten used to it and we're going to have to get more walking time. I wish we had a yard, that is the one thing about this place that I wish we had.

He has also figured out how to get onto the table where I feed the cat and eaten all the cat food two days this week. Tiny legs but an impressively long torso.
    image
  • My dog seems to love rawhide and hasn't seemed to have any issues with it.  We give her one a week, on average, and it usually takes her that long to munch on it.  Milkbones are also popular treats.  She also loves rope toys, but man does she destroy those!  Kongs don't seem to hold her attention, mostly because we can't find a food she likes enough to bother with.

I got black Kong brand because our GSD is the big chewer and our friend had one for their GSD.  Yeah...she's a tank.  We should have named her Panser or Abrams.  She broke the buckles two collars in one month and she doesn't actually pull so IDK how that is happening.  Anyway, she's fun.

  • Amanda- your wedding is so close! Is everything done for the most part? Binx- That is great news! I am glad you are able to get the ball rolling on other things now! Today is my Friday at work. Leaving tonight after work and making the drive to DC. Can't wait to spend some time with some of my best friends. Hoping to finish the race too. This is random but if I knew how to post pics from my ipod or blackberry I would totally AW the clutch I made this weekend. I am really proud of it. It came out so cute and I think you ladies would appreciate it.

Sorta... she was being a tyrant, and had about 8 stickies telling people what they could and couldn't have as favors.  Basically everything was wrong in her opinion - I don't honestly know what would be okay according to her.  I can't even remember it all, but it was quite comical how over-the-top and bossy she was being.

So a bunch of people started lurking on Favors who aren't usually there (I'm giving Georgetown Cupcakes as favors, and if someone doesn't like it, I'll gladly eat theirs) and yelling at her.  She told someone off who nicely suggested that those were her OPINIONS and not FACTS, saying,"Don't speak to me like that - you have to respect me!  I'm the moderator!"  Like it was some official title that gave her crazy powers.

I posted a poll as gently worded as possible to try to show her and the TK gods how she was viewed, asking if people had thought she had overstepped her role and should be removed as mod, if she had crossed a line but it wasn't a big deal, if she was okay and could stay, or if she was a great mod.  About 80 people said she sucked, 30 people said she went too far but could stay, and only 1 person said she was a great mod (hmm... wonder if she voted for herself much?).  She banned me for that, as well as about 15 other people.  I believe Anna on SB (or is she on E?) also got banned during that.  Most girls got TK to release their original screen names again, but I figured it wasn't a bad way to hide my tracks for privacy reasons since my old SN had my first name and stuff and so never asked them to reactivate my old screen name.
