Resolution Check-in 1/6/11 - Good and Bad

Well, in the interests of being accountable and honest, I didn't have such a good day today, resolution-wise. I ended up getting ice cream on the way home and having some tonight, and I wasn't able to walk at lunch...but the good news is...

I GOT THE JOB!!!!!!!!

That's partially why I couldn't walk at lunch...my boss came in to tell me the good news, and then I was in meetings all afternoon because there are a LOT of things I do that now need to be parceled out to the other members of my department. I'm a psychologist; I work at an inpatient facility with criminal offenders. I'm currently head of the psychology department, but come the 16th, I will be the Clinical Director...in charge of psychology, social work, therapeutic recreation, and so forth. It's not a huge raise in terms of money, but it is a big career move, and I really, really wanted it, so I'm a very happy camper! Unfortunately, the way I tend to celebrate is with food.

So my challenge now is going to be to wrap up the hundreds of things I need to get done as the Psychology Director and rev up for my new job. All while celebrating my FI's birthday this weekend, and still waiting for the first results on my annulment.

And how was YOUR day?

Wow, congratulations!!! Thats great! And don't guilt yourself about the ice cream either--you deserve a little celebration :)

As for me... I called in sick today. So no exercise whatsoever, no Mass, just a yucky day. I did just finish my Rosary so thats good, and I got a lot work done on my DIY invitations, as I felt awful but not bad enough that I was content with just laying in bed all day. Hopefully at least the headache goes away by tomorrow...

AWESOME, lmeade! Just Awesome! (That you got the job!) That is a job I'm very glad other people can do - I find it amazing!

So far so good - except I'm a bit more behind on my homeowork than I would like. Still no exercise - but it will come.

Last night was vunderful with the tasting - except there was SO much food, and a dessert table to die for! Had to try it all! Fortunately FI and I split all the entrees etc, but it was a full on meal! The Passion Fruit Cheescake - to die for. If the FI didn't hate cheesecake I would consider forgoing the sheet cake part of the wedding cake, and just do that. For reals.

Today - the other half of my Big Bowl is safely in tupperware in the fridge...and as suspected, I'm not hungry. (Well maybe a little.) Point is I knew I was stuffing myself whenever I ate the whole dang thing!

    K - back to homework.

Still to accomplish today: Journal, Rosary, and homework! Need to find somewhere to go to confession. Our church does Saturday afternoons - and I will be in class :P

Aw, Katie, I'm sorry to hear that you were sick. Hope you feel better tomorrow.

    What are you DIY invitations?

K8ly - the tasting sounds like so much fun. We are having a simple, simple, simple reception - no sit down meal, likely sandwiches or something like that. I've been looking at a couple of vendors, but we still need a date for sure before we really start pricing and tasting. I'm so looking forward to being able to *really* plan.

What's a "Big Bowl"? Good luck on your homework...

Sounds lovely. The food was the one big thing the FI had a strong opinion on - and the cake - so he wants to splurge a bit on the food.

Big Bowl = Chinese/Thai restaurant - their Thai Hot Pepper Shrimp with Basil and Peanuts is one of my absolute favorite things in the whole wide world: http://www.bigbowl.com/

Yummm... can't wait til our tasting!!

I'm making all my invitations from scratch, with a pretty hydrangea stamp and embossing powder... I don't have a pic of the actual invite yet, but this is what I worked on yesterday:
