honeymoon ideas?!

So to avoid doing the school work I should be doing, I started looking into honeymoons! I really like the idea of going to an all-inclusive resort, but is it really worth the money? Where are you going?  Has anyone gone to a Sandals or other all inclusive resort?
Thanks! :)

We are planning to go to an all-inclusive resort in Aruba called Divi Aruba...we think it's definitely worth it (but I don't know first hand as I've never been before) because think of how much money you spend going out to eat and drinking while on vacation - if that cost is included, at least you're not possibly racking up more money on top of everything else.  Plus this particular resort includes access to a neighboring all-inclusive resort, as well, so we figure why not?

I debated cruise or all-inclusive for months before making a decision. I really had a hard time choosing, but since FI and I haven't ever been anywhere in the caribbean, we chose to go with cruise so we could see more places. We are going on a 9 day Princess cruise. We get to see 5 islands in the process!

Karebear: Both my aunt and someone I work with go to the Divi Aruba every year. They love it!! Good choice!

I have gone to many all inclusives and absolutely love them! They are definitely worth the money. My top favorites were a Sandals in Jamaica and The Royal in Mexico.

For our honeymoon we wanted to do something different so we are taking a cruise around the Meditterean. We figure this is a once in a lifetime trip!

If you have any questions on all inclusives let me know.

Haha, funny that you mention you were avoiding doing school work, because that's exactly what I'm doing now, too! AND I was looking at honeymoon ideas. I think we're learning towards Belize for our honeymoon. They're not known for having all-inclusive resorts, but many of the hotels do include honeymoon packages that come with different things - almost like an all-inclusive.

i think all-inclusive resorts can be worth it, depending on where you go.  friends of ours went to one in St. Lucia and loved it.  I think it was one of the Sandals, but not sure.

personally, if you chose Aruba, i would not do an A/I.  There are so many amazing restaurants and bars and I would absolutely recommend not being locked-into a meal plan at your hotel.  You can definitely do Aruba cheaper without an A/I package than with one (and if you stay on Palm Beach, everything is within walking distance).  That being said, I do have friends that did an A/I there for their HM and loved it.  (But when they went back for their 1 yr anniversary, they chose to stay at the same hotel but not do the A/I package!)

We just got back from Secrets Maroma in Riveria Maya, Mexico.  It's an all-inclusive, and I thought it was well-worth the money.  The service was excellent.  The employees were always there to see if you wanted food or another drink, etc.  The food was delicious too!  And the resort is absoutely beautiful.  It was really nice not having to worry about money while on our honeymoon,

We just got back from Secrets Maroma too!  It was amazing.  It was our first AI and although neither of us are huge drinkers, we still kept the fruity drinks and snacks coming all day long.  The waiters by the pool were awesome, we are already trying to figure out when we can back on another vacation because it was THAT good.
