How do you knoooooooooow....

Re: How do you knoooooooooow....

  • I would have to say that Nightmare Before Christmas is my all time favorite Disney movie! I have so much Nightmare Before Christmas stuff throughout my house all year.

I was always an odd one.. I always wanted to be Maleficent and never liked Princess Aurora.

[QUOTE]I looooove Disneyworld now. When I was a kid it was fun but all I really remember was standing in lines for a 5 minute ride. When we went for our HM I had such an incredible time just walking around and seeing everything without having to ride Dumbo or the spinning Teacups. I just thought it was "interesting" how much controversy surrounded Princess and the Frog. I mean, yes she's the first African American princess, but we've had a Persian, Asian, and Russian one already (thinking Anastasia even though she's not really a princess) so is it really that shocking?

You forgot about Pocahontas, the Native American Princess.

  • My Mom made me the yellow dress that Belle wore for Halloween one year.  Now i must search for pictures.

  • TECHNICALLY Nightmare Before Christmas is a TOUCHSTONE picture, not a DISNEY picture.

I *heart* me some Jack Skellington, though.  And this movie began my still-running love affair with all movies Burton.

  • Aladdin is my answer to everything. I loved the music and Jasmine was my fav. It's closely followed by Mulan, then Little Mermaid, then Lion King. I need to have a marathon.
  • Lion King is my favorite, hands down. Hakuna Matata is probably one of my favorite disney songs that and "Kiss the Girl" from The Little Mermaid. My favorite character is Timon from LK or Genie from Alladin. I'm also a big fan of The Jungle Book and Snow White.

This isn't including any Pixar movies, because that changes everything.

  • The Nightmare Before Christmas wasn't a Disney movie...

You beat me.  I missed it amidst doing little bits of work.
  • Wait, who did Anastasia then?

Oh! I did forget Pocohantas, how did I do that? Even though most of that movie was crazy historically inaccurate...

Even though I do love Pocohantas with every fiber of my being, it pains me to watch it because it's so wrong. But I was her for Halloween one year, so I still love it.
  • Fox Animation Studios according to IMDB... I thought it was Disney too
  • How could I forget Mary Poppins!! I just saw it on Broadway over the summer with my mom, it was fantastic. "It's a jolly holiday with Mary..."

Yeah it was pretty bad overall. I remember just not liking it at all. Though I loved the racoon and I thought Disney's animation of her was beautiful.
  • beeeeeeeee ouuurrr GUEST be our guest, put our service to the test.

H and I may have watched Lion King, Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, and Snow White this weekend. :)
  • Oh, well good job Fox studios because that's been one of my favorite Disney movies for a while, and it's not Disney!
  • Nightmare is a Disney movie by round about ways. It was always owned by Disney.

Burton wrote a three-page poem titled The Nightmare Before Christmas when he was a Disney animator in the early-1980s.

Over the years, Burton's thoughts regularly returned to the project. In 1990, Burton found out that Disney still owned the film rights, and the two committed to produce a full-length film with Selick as director

Walt Disney Pictures decided to release the film under their Touchstone Pictures banner because they thought Nightmare would be "too dark and scary for kids". Selick remembered,

  • ZOMG that's why I said "technically".  That's why we're not including, say, the Pixar films because TECHNICALLY they weren't "Disney" films because they were not released under the Disney Pictures name.

You ladies will appreciate this. My good friend is OBSESSED with The Little Mermaid. For her shower her sister got her an Ariel and Eric cake topper for her wedding. Unfortunately it was a bit too heavy to actually go *on* the cake, so it sat besides the cake on the table. This the the best photo I could dig up of it, it's right there between the flowers and cake (sorry it's so small I don't have away to edit it on this computer):

But the best part was coming out of the water while flipping your hair!  Then you were really cool!

    Finding Nemo, definitely my fav.

Dory is my fav character.  Found a talking stuffed Dory while I was at WDW.  I HAD to have it.

We are having a Mickey and Minnie topper on our wedding cake.

  • I'm so late to this but I don't care, I heart Disney Tongue out.

    Favorite character: Belle
Favorite movie: Beauty and the Beast
Favorite song: Beauty and the Beast theme song.  Funny story, when we first got Bella (great dane) we were told to play music to help her sleep.  We played this song for months.  It was pretty awesome.

But dear God I love the Enchanted soundtrack lol

  • I haven't read the other posts so you may be on another topic by now. But I wanted to answer anyway.

Your favorite Disney song Second Star to the Right, Part of Your World, the voodoo song from Prince and the Frog, oh and the creepy song Frollo sings about Esmerelda in Hunchback
favorite Disney character Aladdin, Eric, and Scuttle
favorite Disney movie Peter Pan, Beauty & the Beast, The Santa Clause
or the reason that you hate Disney with a violent passion (and are therefore un-American and possibly Bin Laden). I agree with KW that the quality has decreased over the years. My faith was restored with princess and the Frog, so we'll see what happens in the future
