Re: Completely random questions

  • 1.Do you like your IRL name?  Tell us what it is if you're comfortable with that.
No. I almost hate it. I loved my name before I was adopted, but after I was adopted my new parents changed the whole thing. :( I plan on changing most of it back when I change my last name.

    2.  If your place of residence burned down today, what material item would you be most upset about losing?
My books, photographs and my laptop.

    3.  What's the worst physical injury you've ever sustained?
I broke my lower back twice, once in 2011 and a second time in early 2012. The first time was the worst through. They had me on some good stuff though because I don’t remember two days of my life after that.

    4.  Do you have a TV in your bedroom?  If so, do you watch TV before you go to sleep?

    Nope and nope.

    5.  Speaking of TV, what is your single favorite TV show ever?  You can just pick one, but feel free also to list the runners-up.
Iron Chef with Hell’s Kitchen in a close second.
    6.  Add a question to the list!  If you want to, you know.  No pressure or anything.

Do you like coffee? If so how do you drink it?

If you could go back and relive one year of your life, when would it be and why?

Senior year of high school. Just to hang out with everyone all the time again. No bills, no responsibilities… Oh and I probably would stop my twin brother from ever dating the Ms. Evil.

If you could pick up your life and move anywhere for 1 year, knowing you could come back and have things exactly how they were (same job, etc.), where would you go?

Paris, France… Or southern France. –dreamy sigh-

If you were an animal, what would you be?

    A snow leopard.

What is a TV show you can't stand/don't get all the hype over?

The walking dead. I don’t like zombie things in general but all the hype on zombies is really starting to annoy me.

Do you have a weird fear (ie: fear of cigarette ashes)?

Right now I have a fear of my step-birth dad starting fights at our wedding. Everyone says he won’t but I just don’t know.

If you could take a vacation anywhere in the world and all expenses are paid by someone else, where would you go/what would you do?

Backpack across China or Japan. Love both cultures (food included).

What is the scariest thing that's ever happened to you?

When I started to drown in a pool when I was younger. –shudder-

If someone gave you $1000 today and you had to spend it ASAP (not pay off debt), what would you buy?

Plane tickets and a hotel reservation somewhere warm. It’s 10 degrees outside right now :(

Do you have any quirks that other people might consider weird?

I don’t mind admitting that I was wrong

Late to the party... oh well.

    1. Do you like your IRL name? Tell us what it is if you're comfortable with that.

It's Lauren and yes I do. It's not particularly fancy or yoonique (my 8th grade history class had FIVE Lauren's all told) but it feels like me. I've always been told I look like a Lauren if that makes any sense.

    2. If your place of residence burned down today, what material item would you be most upset about losing?

I live in an apartment so thankfully I won't be devastated over the loss of the building. The things I'd miss the most would be my books because I've been collecting them for years, my BF's piano, sentimental items like inherited things from my Oma that are absolutely irreplaceable.

    3. What's the worst physical injury you've ever sustained?

After middle school the only "sport" I participated in was marching band so luckily it didn't call for anything extraordinarily physical. Once while moving out of one college dump rental I fell down a flight of stairs and severely sprained my ankle. It swelled up to larger than grapefruit size and it took over six months to look normal again. To this day the ankle is still weaker than the other and I can see a visible difference between the two. Prob should've gone to the doc for that one...

    4. Do you have a TV in your bedroom? If so, do you watch TV before you go to sleep?

    I don't.

    5. Speaking of TV, what is your single favorite TV show ever? You can just pick one, but feel free also to list the runnersup.

In middle school I adored Sailor Moon (nerdy and weird I know!) and I totally obsessed over that show... to the point of freaking out over being late off of the school bus because I might miss an episode. I'm not a big TV watcher nowadays so I don't have many current favorites outside of Downton Abbey.

If you could go back and relive one year of your life, when would it be and why?

I'd competely redo freshman year of college. School prior to college was incredibly easy and boring for me so I never developed study habits. In college I thought I could slide by with the same behaviors. Eventually I fell into the slippery slope of skipping class, not completing assignments, failing exams, etc. and I actually got expelled (somehow a miracle happened and that very summer the university implemented a freshman "forgiveness" program). Luckily I came back the next year with a vengeance and still managed to graduate in four years with a double major and a 3.0+ GPA. Life lessons I guess. My only regret is not doing things differently but I realize now the benefits of learning from your mistakes.

EDIT: tipsy... I messed up on some wording.

I am callously overlooking all the new questions just to say, Jen, after withdrawal pains from West Wing, I was desperately searching for new shows to watch.  We tried Parenthood.  FI was not that interested, but I am hooked.  While I have not quite cried at every episode as a good friend of mine exclaimed when I told her I was watching it, it has made me tear up a few times.  It was a combination of hearing about it on here and FB that made me try it out!  FI is now hooked on Grey's Anatomy and his co-worker teased him, calling it a soap opera.  :)

  • 1.  Do you like your IRL name?  Tell us what it is if you're comfortable with that.
Sure, but people spell it wrong all the time. It's Krystle.

    2.  If your place of residence burned down today, what material item would you be most upset about losing?
My clothes...and my shoes...and my CHI!

    3.  What's the worst physical injury you've ever sustained?
    Broken wrist from cheerleading.

    4.  Do you have a TV in your bedroom?  If so, do you watch TV before you go to sleep?
    Yes and yes.

    5.  Speaking of TV, what is your single favorite TV show ever?  You can just pick one, but feel free also to list the runners-up.
    Ever? Vampire Diaries, I guess.

    6.  Add a question to the list!  If you want to, you know.  No pressure or anything.
  • if you had one choice to head out into space or down to the ocean bottom which one and why?

I would probably pick space.  Both scare me but the ocean floor scares me more.

If you could go back and relive one year of your life, when would it be and why?

The first year N and I started dating because I went to Europe twice that year and I finished high school and I would like to change some of the choices I made. (to clarify not about dating N)

If you could pick up your life and move anywhere for 1 year, knowing you could come back and have things exactly how they were (same job, etc), where would you go?

Germany.  I already want to do this.  I am trying to make this happen in a year. :)

If you were an animal, what would you be?

A horse so I could run around and be beautiful

What is a TV show you can't stand/don't get all the hype over?

Jersey Shore, Keeping Up with the Khardasians, The Walking Dead- Bleh

Do you have a weird fear (ie: fear of cigarette ashes)?

I am afraid of touching dirty dishes in soapy water.  I hate it but I just kind of deal with it after a while.   I also don't like taking showers while being alone in the house or late at night.  I get so freaked out.  I am convinced someone is going to kill me every time.

If you could take a vacation anywhere in the world and all expenses are paid by someone else, where would you go/what would you do?

Somewhere tropical or maybe New Zealand, or Scotland.   I would go hiking a lot.  Swimming if it was warm.

What is the scariest thing that's ever happened to you?

Slipping on the ice cliff in Switzerland.  Closely followed by walking from my car in the dark to my parent's front door.  That scares me witless every time.

If someone gave you $1000 today and you had to spend it ASAP (not pay off debt), what would you buy?

A really nice hotel room with lots of extras for our 1st year anniversary.

Do you have any quirks that other people might consider weird?

I have many.   One is that I like people to put stuff back exactly where they found it if it is in my house.  I'm also really picky with food.

What is a food you like that other people might find gross?
    Top Romen.

What is something you have never ever done, and don't ever intend to? Why not?

Sky diving.  I'm with Lyn, I will never jump out of a plane.  I love planes, they are fun.  There is no quicker way to end that enjoyment than force me out of one.

In Response to Re:Completely random questions:
In Response to Re: Completely random questions:nbsp;nbsp;nbsp;nbsp; What's the worst physical injury you've ever sustained? A broken toe. A severe burn on my knee from the lawn mower... funny story. Posted by cu97tigerWhat's the story?nbsp; : Posted by minskat30
When I was a teenager, I was mowing our front lawn. Halfway through, the mower stopped. I turned it on its side and leaned over to see if some grass was stuck in it. All of a sudden, I hear sizzling and feel burning in my knee. I had leaned against the hot motor and burned a whole in my knee. It was so deep that it didn't scab for weeks. Ouchie.

To answer JenJens question: I've never been to Mardi Grad in New Orleans and I never intend to go. Big drunk crowds like that freak me out.

Aw! I hardly ever cry about real upsetting things, it is usually tv shows and movies that get me to express that emotion. Lots of things wrong with this person.

We stopped watching Parenthood. I can't currently handle the cancer/chemo part right now. And I imagine H feels the same way because he enjoys the show, and hasn't requested it in awhile. Double sadface. Maybe this summer we'll catch up...
