Wedding Invitations & Paper

Invites for no plus 1

We are only inviting our very close friends and family. yes we will be inviting married couples and  couples we actually know. But, we are not doing the plus one. Hope that makes sense, how would we word this or send out invites?

Re: Invites for no plus 1

  • As I understand it, the invitation is only for the names listed on the envelope. So, if just one person than you'd address it to "Ms. Julie Smith" or to a couple "Mr. and Mrs. Bob and Julie Smith" If they RSVP for more than one, than a simple telephone call would let them know that you are having a small wedding and the invitation addressed to the invitee only.

  • Wonderful thanks...
  • If you aren't inviting them to bring a date, you just put their name on the invitation.  If they are in a relationship, put both names.

I will point out that it is rude to excluse any significant others, regardless of whether they are married or you know them.  If it's a relationship, you have to invite both.  If the person is truly single, you do not have to invite them to bring a date.
  • Well that is what I needed to know, if they are in a relationship we will invite but if not then we won't. We are only inviting 50 people.
  • It may be more work but this is what we are doing:

So far about a third of our guests have replied, and no one has added any extra people, so it seems to be working! </div>
