What's the rudest comment anyone's made about any aspect of your wedding so far?

For me it's mostly been, "Why such a long engagement?"

Also get asked about whether we plan on having kids WAY too much, even my parents have been coming up with clever responses lol.

Some people who are completely single have lately been assuming they are getting a plus one. Listen people, you haven't even gotten a STD yet, so calm down, and we are only inviting SOs.

The rudest BY FAR was early on in our engagment my MIL said a couple of times that I am "too fat to be getting married", and that I have to lose weight. That sucked. Lol however, I don't know if my FI told her something because I told him that if she told me a third time I would tell her something not very nice and along the lines of..."Well you see I cant lose too much weight because your son likes it". LOL I almost wish she would have said it again just so I could say that.

Aside from that, people who we weren't planning on inviting assuming they are getting an invitation. Also, a friend of FI assuming he was going to be a groomsman without FI even asking him (we werent planning on having him as one)...fun stuff lol!

For me It really hasn't been what people have said more of what they do.

FI brothers both assumed they were going to be his Best Men. He did pick them, but FI and I were honestly thinking of picking his best friend- who would actually do a good job...

FI family had an open house for their business and I was taking to some people and had to introduce myself. One lady, as soon as she found out Nathan had a fiance went over to FMIL to ask details about the wedding when I had been standing right there next to her!! She definitely will not be getting the invite she was fishing for...

Most of it has been from girls who are not married.. Saying that we are spending too much money, we are going too over the top, etc... Our budget is 7,000 which I don't find as to much, intact I'm considering it a "budget" wedding. Guest list is small at 113 and that includes us, our bridal party, children and the vendors that require a meal. Venue only cost 1000 for all day both ceremony and reception and we can set up a day before, and a sit down dinner through the cheapest caterer that had good food that I could find for a total of 1,500. And that's including one hot hors dvours. I'm doing so much DIY to try to save on costs. I also got the comment of "why are we waiting so long to get married"we got engaged this past Christmas.. So its only a little over a year... But back to the budget, we need AT LEAST that long to save up that much, if not longer!

There have been a few, but my favorite have been from FMIL. She is constantly saying..I don't think I'd like that..about every idea I have. And telling me that she doesn't want the reception to look empty. We are inviting just over 100 people and paying for everything ourselves. I also LOVE that FSIL said all our pictures will look the same, since we are getting married in the same church they did. Lol

1. Why are you waiting so long? I answer because money doesn't grow on trees but if you find one let me know!!!
2. Why dont you just plan a wedding here (in Nashville) then go on a honeymoon to Jamaica? I answer because that's not what we want to do and we want to have a stress free intimate wedding.
3. My all time favorite... Why don't you two just go to the court house and get married? Hmmm... maybe because this is the one time I get to wear a wedding dress and I will be damned if I dont get to walk down the aisle to my groom.

1. My mother and sister not liking any of the dresses I liked when looking.
2. Friend who I was in her wedding asking non stop if she was in mine. Decided we lost touch and wanted more family anyway!

That's definitely not an expensive wedding, IMO. We are going to be around 10,000 when everything is said and done, but I really didn't want to go about 7,000.

I haven't had too many rude comments. The worst I get is people telling me I'm doing things that are "bad luck". And at the beginning my sisters were a little upset that I was choosing my best friend that I've known since kindergarten as my MOH... I'm just much closer to her!

I absolutely hate when people ask I'm invited? And cringed when someone actually said to me on Wednesday tell me the date so I can make sure to get off from work. My mouth fell open. She has yet to know she's not invited and neither are her supposed besties. Drama free wedding for me!

The only things I've really heard so far that were rude were that:

1. My younger sister and MOH refuses to really talk about the wedding because it "annoys her".

2. People asking if I want kids. I'm young. No kids for us right now, or anytime soon, thank you very much.

The rudest comments I got were related to making sure that I lose weight for the wedding. My family had no problem bugging me about that. Well at least they can't both me anymore because I lost most of the weight already.

I haven't had any really rude comments. My nonna has a lot of thought about how my wedding should be but I know the way she is so I don't let it bother me.
