Have any of you ladies considered doing a trash the dress shoot? I'm about 80% sure that I want to do it, but I can't help but be a little nervous about ruining my dress. I don't have plans on trying to keep my dress and passing it down to my hypothetical daughter (let's be honest, she's not going to want it), so I don't know why I'm so hesitant. Maybe because I spent so much money on the dress to only wear it once then possibly ruin it, but the shots that I could get would be so worth it!!!
What do y'all think? Are you going to do it?

[QUOTE]I personally don't understand the concept, is a bride *trashing* her life as a single woman? what? to be honest I wouldn't do it if I did get it. I do have a daughter and even if she doesn't want it (and I wouldn't expect her to) my trash could be some other bride's treasure. I got my dream dress from a newlywed (and I could not have afforded it otherwise at full cost). So I'm kind of a fan of brides considering recycling their dresses, designers wouldn't be able to charge a damn arm and a leg if brides simply had more options. not directed at you particularly op, wedding expenses period raise my pressure. um, what was the question? LOL!!

From my understanding it is supposed to symbolize that your marriage to your husband will last forever so you will never need a wedding dress again.... so you trash it. The 1st time I had ever heard of it/saw it was when the woman Trish from clean house got married and she did a trash the dress shoot. I thought it was an awesome idea and she got some amazing shots but I know its not for me. My mom gifted me the dress and I know she would KILL me if I tried to trash it lol.
[QUOTE]I'm going to us the material to make christening dress or suit for any babies to come. I'm sure my potential daughter will want her own she's my child after all but at least it will still have some use

Great minds think alike. I considered this too.

I want to do this but my daughter is begging me to keep it for her. If she's anything like me when the time comes, she'll want her own to match the current styles and then I will have saved it for nothing. For right now, I'm happy just putting it back on from time to time.....lol. We'll see what happens. Definitely won't be trashing it though.
