Who has....

some fun relative stories?

My brother's wedding was this past weekend. My Uncle showed up pretty hammered, which was very amusing because he kept trying to drag my poor aunt onto the dance floor and she was too embarassed. My grandmother got into a fight with me because my grandpa didn't want to drive home with her because she wouldn't give up the keys and had maybe 6 bottles of wine somehow!?? so I finally had to lie to her to get her to give me the keys to her car and drive them back to their hotel.

At the time, I was pissed. Now, I find it very very amusing. Anyone else have fun stories? It's a slow day, have at it.

    My grandma is certifiable.

She gets us all this really bad CRAP for Christmas.  Literally, like clearance Kmart lotion that stinks, etc.  Last year, before H and I were married, she told my mom that she didn't want H and my sister's BF to come to family Christmas because then she would have to buy them a gift.  My mom reminded her that H was my FI.

Gma's response was priceless:  "Well.  What about JEFF?  I bought HIM a gift and look where THAT went."  Jeff was my BF 10 years ago and the "gift" was a pack of dollar store peanuts.

    She is horrid.

  • My family doesn't really do much.. Nobody on my side drinks much at all, so no drunken stories there! However, FI's side of the family is a ton of fun and there's booze at everything from christening parties to little kid b-day parties.

For the first year or so, every time FI's father had anything to drink (and sometimes even when he didn't), he would tell me how much better I was than FI's "tramp" of an ex-gf. It was funny at the time, but FI finally told me years later that the reason they didn't like her was because she came from a blue-collar family that literally lived on the wrong side of the tracks.

This totally failed at being a funny story, didn't it? :P Oh well.
  • hahahaa oh SP that is horrible. but really really funny! I'm sorry!
