I'm getting real.  From Pam at the Pallette.  $40 a bag and she said 2 will be more than enough to generously cover 8 -10 tables.

We were supposed to have petals on our reception tables but Pam forgot them. It was no big deal and she apologized all over the place. Our centerpieces looked great anyway.  We did have silk petals on the cake table that I got from Michael's for like $5 for a box of 300.  Caesars said they didn't have pink petals in September so for our ceremony we also used silk ones from Michael's.

I ordered 12,000 real petals from fiftyflowers.com. The majority will be in hot pink to heavily line the aisle, and then we're getting a few bags of white ones for the rose petal toss and to sprinkle in the suite. I paid $179.99 for the 12,000, they gave me 10% off so it was only a $40 difference compared to the 6,000 petals for $139.99, so I went for it.

Edit - Just realized you only need them for the room, so these would probably be too many for you, but in case other brides are interested in the info there ya go..

They have to be silk or else they want to charge the outside vendor fee. For petals, really?? When you don't even have the color I need! All they had were white and red.  But since you are paying the outside vendor fee anyway, it won't matter.

    HOLEY MOLEY 12000 IS A LOT. :)

We got 2000 silk petals from ebay for like $12. And it was a ton of petals. We had 9 tables at maggianos, with a sweetheart table and cake table and the petals were everywhere!! But I didn't use them to line the aisle, so the more the better!!

I went to Vons the day before the wedding and bought a dozen white roses for $10.  I let them open up in water overnight, and the next day we dismantled a couple of them to use for petals, and put the rest at the base of the cake stand.
This is a neglected planning bio.
This is a belated married bio, with no reviews yet because I'm lazy.

Sometimes I feel like people think that brides are delicate little flower princesses who get all dressed up and pretty for one special moment of their dreams, when really they're just normal people who just happen to be getting married. Things shouldn't have to be sugar-coated for grown-ass women. -mstar284

Yeah I figure if there's more there than to just heavily line the aisle, I'll completely cover it:)  I talked to another Knottie, not on this board, and she had I want to say about the same amount or a little less and they didn't even really "heavily" line the aisle.  So yeah maybe it will end up being a lot, but you can't have too many I wouldn't think:)

I bought freeze dried rose petals from Fly Boy Naturals. I went back and forth between fresh and freeze dried and was ultimately happy with my choice. I did have WAY too many rose petals though! I had wanted a heavy border on each side of the aisle at The Flamingo but they scattered them instead. It was fine, but I am pretty sure that is why I had so much left over.

I used them for the cermeony and to decorate the Vista Suite.

I forgot to mention the fresh rose petals that Pam brought for me were gorgeous. She brought them just as an extra! Very nice.
